Or am I the only crazy one???????????
DH and I are trying to think of something clever, cheap, and easy to make for R this year. Will be more fun since she is walking this year.

Yep. But, I have an easy year. D is at his dad's for Halloween weekend, so it's just M. I already have a Ninja Turtle costume for him to wear. I'm just hoping it fits then!

YES!! I thought I was being a nut.
I have 2 tutus (maybe a third after 4th of July) that I'd like to reuse for a Halloween costume. I also want L and Sister to have coordinating costumes, but can't think of how to combine existing tutus + new costume for a 2 month old baby... such problems!

Haha yes but only because I have some costumes I can reuse for E and N!

not yet, would love to get sibling costumes!

I bought E's in November when PBK had them all for dirt cheap!

Oh man. I can't wait. I assume LO will be walking then so it should be fun. Now that we only have 2 pugs maybe I'll do a costume for the 3 of them. I have 3 "three amigos" outfits from when I had 3 pugs (which I handmade... when did I have so much time...) maybe she can be the 3rd Amigo?

@Smurfette: Superheroes would be adorable! I have a smaller neon green one, so Sister could maybe be Hulk... hahaha. And L could be Captain America and I'd have the beginnings of my own little Avengers

Haha, YES! Just this week I have made several (adorable) suggestions to DH. My current choices are dinosaur (she makes the cutest dinosaur-like noises all the time) or dragon (because we love the move How to Train Your Dragon). She will only be 5 months, so it'll have to be something not bulky since we will be carrying her around!

@swurlygurl: I made R's WonderWoman outfit for my nephew's bday party and then she wore it to day care for Halloween. So easy!

@Smurfette, abominable snowman. We think it's effing hilarious

Ummm. We may have started right after last Halloween. Our whole family is doing wizard of oz.

@blackbird: That is adorable. I can so see her in that!!

@Mrs. Train: That was us last year! I was Dorothy, DH was the scarecrow, and DS was the lion.
Been thinking about what our family can be this year that's easy/simple to put together. I made my Dorothy outfit during 3 of DS's naps, and DH wore something he already had in the closet.

No, but only because our neighbors have 4 kids and have told us never to buy a Halloween costume since they have so many! haha. I'm totally relying on them to pull through with something cute this year

@Smurfette: haha I have been and resisted posting about it!
My first thought is Chun Li or maybe a Daniel tiger character!
@autumnlove: ooh totally forgot about the endless sibling options this year!!

I really want to do Super Mario & little Mario but I'm not that creative!

Yes. DH wants to dress like Wreck it Ralph and B will dress as Fix it Felix.
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
Yes I really want to do this but I don't know if DH will go for it
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
Yes! I think we might go Jurassic Park. Baby will be a dino, I'll be Ellie Sattler, and DH wants to be Ian Malcolm.

Are we talking about for kids or for adults? I want to be Daenerys Targaryen. I'm just trying to decide how much I want to spend on the costume. I basically want to be her in real life, all the time.

@lawbee11: OMG U HAVE TO!!!!! If he wot go for it for M, maybe you can do it! I think it's really funny/cute and looks easy!

@Alivoo01: YEAH! I love Wizard of Oz Families. I started telling the kids it would be fun last year after Halloween and my husband said there is absolutely no way I would get them to do it a whole year later. He bet me I couldn't convince them and have them keep it for a year but I think I might win this one.
The boys are going to be the scarecrow, tin man and the lion. Lilly is going to be Dorthy. I am going to be the wicked witch, my husband is going to be the wizard. My mom is going to be Glinda. I think my dad wants to be a witches guards but I still have to figure that one out. My kids have decided that my in laws should be one of the lollipop guild and lullaby league but we will see if my MIL wants to wear a tutu. (this is why I have to start thinking a year in advance...I have a lot of costumes to make)
@lawbee11: so cute!

My husband wants the kids to be a two man bobsled team. We'd decorate the wagon as a bobsled. I'm not 100% sold on it though.

@Smurfette: YES! Oh my gosh I love Halloween. I cannot wait to decorate the house and yard.
Chloe wants to be a pink kitty cat or Elsa. Little sis will be a witch simply because I've already got the newborn costume (it was Chloe's).
I love Halloween (until it's Xmas. Then I LOVE Christmas!!)

These are my 2 ideas, I'm really leaning toward the aerobics instructor
honeydew / 7811 posts
@LuLu Mom: aerobics instructor is so cute! especially if you could teach her some moves!
I want LO to be something he likes ... so maybe a doggy? or a kitty? or a blueberry?
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
@Smurfette: R could go as a Baby Gap model and you wouldn't have to spend any money at all!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@LuLu Mom: OMG, the aerobics instructor is too cute!
@lawbee11: LOL!

@Mrs. Train: That's awesome you get to include so many family members!! Talk about doing it right!

DH and I were talking about this the other day. We can't decide girly tu-tu, nerdy, or animal. She'll be almost 9 months so probably crawling so it needs to be practical... Maybe baby taco? Haha.

These are awesome! I am so excited about Halloween this year, she will be brand new though so it's sort of hard finding a good costume for a newborn besides a pumpkin or pea. I found a lady bug sleep sack that I am going to get but I hope to find something else too.
honeydew / 7230 posts
Oh I can't wait! We might go easy with Thing One and Thing Two, or baby Luke and Leia! We've got to capitalize on cutesy twin costumes when they're young enough not to protest!
