Trying to make some... but all of the creases on the tissue paper from being folded in the packaging makes them look like a crumpled mess when finished! I don't like that look at all... there must be someway to do it as all the pinterest and etsy pictures are not crumpled!

Haha figure it out and tell me! How about using the metal-y paper instead? Or can't you fold with the creases?

@regberadaisy: no, the way they're made you have to fold lengthwise which puts the creases smack dab in the middle of EACH tassel. ugh!!!
And metallic paper is folded the exact same way.

By the looks of it, on the HB tutorial, she cut on the folds. I haven't tried it yet, but I favorited this post for the future...

I've thought about it, but every time I go tobuy tissue paper it's so expensive, I figure it's probably cheaper & easier to buy them on Etsy!

@shopaholic: it's only .99 a package for 6 sheets and you can make 12 tassels from one package!

What about ironing them in between two thick towels? haha I have never tried it.... but maybe that would work?

@Mrs. Pen: did you try the way the tutorial posted? It looks like she's cutting at all the folds and folding at the main fold.

I made the ones in the link Photojane posted and I just made sure to cut on the folds.

@Mrs. Pen: Wow! That's such a good deal! I remember making those Martha Stewart pom pom balls for my BFF's shower and spent SO much $$ on tissue paper!

@shopaholic: I made those same pom pom balls for my wedding! They were the pew decorations, and I ended up buying tissue paper in bulk from an online store. I have SOOO much extra. but it was sooo cheap!

@regberadaisy: well the tutorial I was using but the creases in the middle of each tassel... maybe I need to try a different method. good thing TP is cheap

@MrsBrewer: @Mrs. Pen: Target too! But you need so many layers for the darn thing! I even went to Big Lots but they only had garrish holiday prints. It was so out of the way too, DH said I wasted more gas $ than I would have saved. 
That's just how my luck is with most DIY projects!
