If so, did you need your LO's birth certificate?

We will be soon. We're flying internationally, so our situation is different. But, before booking I read all of the infant in arms info on their website and it never mentioned anything like that. It did say that your ticket will say that you have an infant in arms, so I think that's all they need.

@lawbee11: They asked for it on one leg...and she was only 12 weeks old (insert eye roll) I would bring a copy just in case!

Every two weeks for an entire year and they never once asked for any type of documents. That said, I always carried her birth certificate, her passport, and a few other papers.

We did with ds when he was 8.5 mths. Brought it just in case but didn't need it!

@photojane: Did you book through the Delta website? It didn't give me an option to add her as a lap infant. Maybe I should call them?

@lawbee11: So I've not flown Delta with E, but we just flew Southwest with him as a lap infant. I didn't have an option to add him on when I bought the tickets, but had to bring his birth certificate and my ID (and my boarding pass, but they would have printed that for me) to the check-in desk, and they printed out a "boarding verification document" (basically just a boarding pass) to bring him through security/boarding with. I'm guessing it'll be similar with Delta, but you should call to be sure.

@lawbee11- You can do it when you check in. There is an option to add a lap baby.

@lawbee11: you can add a lap infant using the app. click on your itinerary, tap on your name to expand the options, click on the "add/edit" next to services, scroll to "infant in arms" and add!

I flew Delta today with my 11 month old. you have to check them through at the desk, you can't do it online or on the phone. Give yourself some extra time because it takes a good 20 minutes. We were flying internationally so we needed her passport, but I always bring her ID for domestic flights to err on the side of caution. most of the time they don't ask to see it. also, both Delta planes we flew on didn't have change tables, so that was a little challenging!

@Rockies11: I actually don't even have her birth certificate but I ordered one tonight just in case. I think I should have one anyways. So hopefully it gets here before our flight. The flight we're taking is only 2 hours long, so I am hoping we won't have to change her on the plane!

I sort of like it when they check her birth certificate on domestic flights, since it makes me feel like somebody couldn't just like, walk off with her onto a plane!
ours was only 3 hours, but we had a poo-splosion right in the middle of it! yikes. I was trying to change her while she was standing up but the bathrooms were really noisy so she wouldn't put her legs down. it was a disaster, to say the least.

@Rockies11: DD's birth certificate arrived today...apparently Texas doesn't mess around!
