Yes! At daycare they called me to let me know but said she was acting fine. I picked her up 30 min later and you'd never know she fell. Hopefully the same can be said for R.

One night, Pete cut his lip right before bed and it was bleeding a lot, but only for about 3 minutes before it clotted. After he calmed down, he fell asleep right away. I looked in his mouth the next morning and I couldn't find any evidence that he has been bleeding at all. No mark, scabs, etc. It was like it never happened.

So, I don't have a lot of experience but in Pete's case, the inital blood made the cut seem a lot worse than it actually was. He was fine within five minutes. I hope R is the same way!

And yes, only happens when DH is away!

A few times but not due to an injury. DS and I both have the same huge lips that chap really easy. Both our lips split during our sleep at times. It kind of sucks....

My daughter split her lip recently with quite a bit of blood. The bleeding stop pretty quickly though and she was back to her normal self within 5 minutes. It healed pretty quickly. Hope your LO feels better soon!

A couple of times. Lips bleed a lot, so it seems way worse than it actually is. Luckily, they also heal quickly!

OUr 4 YO was playing on the chair, slipped off, and on the way down, she must have bit down into her lower lip... she was upset and crying of course but calmed down after a few minutes, we cleaned the blood, it clotted, gave her some ice which she liked, and she complained about the pain, but we reassured her it would hurt less and less little by little. she was fine overall, wasn't acting funny or disoriented, she did go back and play. next day it turned into a canker sore, a big one, and healed up totally in 4-5 days.

Um, is it bad I didn't even call the ped when Xander fell and split his???

@Smurfette: How's R doing now?

@Smurfette: My LO got a split lip at daycare once (one of her little friends tried to share a toy with her face a little too forcefully). It healed up pretty quickly. I tried not to overreact, but I may or may not have cried a little when I saw blood transfer on her lovey (her lamb) . . . she must have snuggled it pretty tightly after the incident. She was okay--already!--when I picked her up that afternoon.

@Smurfette: Yeah . . . the face is just so darn vascular! I am glad she is healing up!
