DD1 is 3.5 and she isn't into princesses yet. She does like Elsa and has watched Frozen a ton of times. We saw the Cate Blanchett version of Cinderella over the weekend and she really liked it.
But, for the most part she is much more into superheroes, pretend play and arts & crafts right now.

Yesterday at DCP it was What do you want to be when you grow up day" her reply: a princess, specifically Rapunzel
I know some don't want their kids into princesses but personally I love this phase

Umm, yes. DD1 is obsessed, and due in large part to her influence I'm sure, DD2 is also all about princesses, albeit not quite to the extent.
Pretty much from the time they wake up, until the time they go to bed, my girls are wearing princess dresses, sparkly tutus, sparkly shoes, tiaras, and jewelry - I've learned to embrace it and enjoy the moment! I know I'll look back on the pictures and remember the days we used to go to the grocery store in tutus and princess dresses and those will be some of my most treasured memories!

Yes. Rarely will you ever find LMW without a princess dress, tiara, "magic wand", necklace, bracelets, and shoes. I don't even know where we got all of this stuff. She eats most meals in full princess regalia. She loves to approach us, curtsy and say in a low voice "your majesty."

I asked her the other day if she was a princess when she put on her princess heels and crown and she said No I a queen! She is starting to get into it. She doesn't love the dresses yet, only will wear them for like 5-10 mins but she loves her princess heels.

Obsessed for awhile now. At least we are over the "announcing her" when she comes into a room. I used to have to say "Here He Here He I Now Introduce Princess Emerson of the LastName Kingdom" And we did this over and over and over....

I wasn't into princesses as a child at all but wouldn't you know it, as an adult, I wish I could put on a ball gown and go to work! Would make things so much more interesting that's for sure.
Seriously though, I don't know any princesses personally, but I don't think it's that bad of a life to grow up to be one, hello Kate Middleton!

Not really. She plays queen sometimes (I think a combo of Elsa and the Olivia princess book are behind that), but she's obsessed with astronauts and into animals far more than fairy tales.

@Smurfette: @blackbird: Have you guys read Olivia and the fairy princesses? She doesn't want to be a princess anymore because everyone else is a princess, and at the end she goes, "i want to be Queen!"
DD is obsessed with princesses, but mainly the licensed character kind. I think i would prefer that she was into dressing up or pretending to be a princess instead of being obsessed with acquiring anything that has a princess on it. Honestly, i used to be opposed but i remind myself that i also went through the same phase when i was little.

@looch: hahaha! Touche, touche. I forget that tulle/princess skirts, etc are back in style! I'm a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal, though Honestly, I just love when E is into anything. Cars, trains, princesses....it's such a benign thing that makes her happy and expands her imagination

Yes, ugh. Haha! Sofia the First is 100% a princess gateway drug. Now every necklace is an amulet and every headband is a crown. It's nuts how now she spots anything princess anywhere we go even though she has never watched a princess movie, including Frozen.
A couple days ago in the car she was singing, "Old McDonald had an amulet, E I E I OOOO..."
