@regberadaisy: I would chuck it unfortunately My DH is a chef and his comment is that when it has been out at "room temp" (your car was probably a little warmer than outside) for that long bacteria starts to grow and if the milk hasn't already spoiled it is will shortly....
Not sure if the smell is because it is not homogenized or if it is just a little off already..

I'd dump it. I'm paranoid about that stuff, but 12 hours unrefrigerated is too much in my opinion!

Maybe if you really wanted to use it, you could use it for cooking where you boil it. I tend to be more of a risk taker when it comes to food though. I definitely wouldn't risk it on the kids though. And definitely when we buy the low temp pasteurized non-homogenized stuff, it does smell different than the store bought stuff. More "milky" for lack of a better word, haha.
