Mine never has... until today. I wasn't even thinking. It hasn't been sunny or warm enough to warrant sun screen, and so it wasn't even on my mind! Today is the nicest day of the year thus far and I didn't even think about it. Poor kid. It looks very light and it doesn't seem to bother him. I feel bad though!

No but I'm sure a sunburn is inevitable for her at some point with how fair DH and I are.

She got slightly pink on her forearms and cheeks one day this week. I applied sunscreen twice and she was wearing her hat- but we were out for about 20 minutes at noon and I think that did it. I felt HORRIBLE. I don't do mom guilt often- but man, this did me in. It was gone by the next morning, and she didn't seem bothered at all, but I still feel terrible about it. So I just spent a bunch of money on more UPF clothing and sunscreen from amazon. healthy coping mechanism, I know.

@Silva: wow! That's crazy that she still burned even with sunscreen and a hat! Don't feel bad - you did exactly what you were supposed to! For me, it was a total mom fail on my part haha.

@Mrs. Pen: well, she's basically translucent. I have an olive complexion, so I've never had to be super cautious about sunscreen (should be, obviously, but am not). My husband on the other hand, will burn in like 5 minutes of direct sun. Its a totally new world for me.
