@travellingbee: seriously NOT a big deal. The place he went to was a specialized vasectomy clinic. He went for the consult and got a bunch of info. Then his appointment was a week or so later, first thing in the morning. I got a text from him at his appointment time (beginning of appointment) saying they were all done already. They sent him home with a little cooler and ice packs and tylenol and advil and a BOOKLET of instructions! Seriously, I birthed a child and got less follow up support. 🙄
A lot of our friends have had it done. Telling FH how many of our friends and my coworkers had it done really helped him to get over whatever his issue was.

We're hoping to get it done this year. The recovery's easy from what I hear. It sounds a lot easier than my sinus surgery recovery.

super easy. he texted me during the procedure, haha. and then he drove home. i think i was supposed to drive, but he got in the drivers seat out of habit and we didn't realize until we were home. i don't recall him complaining about recovery at all and usually he's super whiney. maybe he knew better after i went through two c-sections...lol

Super easy. The procedure took about 15 minutes. I went to get him only because they wouldn't let him drive if he took the Ativan they offered him and he was a bit nervous. After the procedure he took two Advil, spent the afternoon sitting on the couch with a bag of peas on his junk, and was fine the next day.

DH got his done last month. It was super quick. He used ice packs for the rest of the day and complained a lot about how sitting in the glider was uncomfortable, but afterwards admitted that it wasn't really painful at all.

This is all good to hear. I react pretty badly to hormonal BC so when we're done for sure I think this is the route we plan to go down.

He had a few sore days, stayed off his bike for a week, and then way totally healed. Never any severe pain.

Good thread. DH just gave me the go ahead to get him scheduled. I need to find a good weekend. Feb and march are filling up already.

sooo.. hate to be the only negative on here but:
make sure DH goes somewhere that other men he knows went and had good experiences from. We just went where our general doctor told us to.
DH had his, I was with him the whole time and he was in a ton of pain, and had a complication so he was down and out like.. lay down, unmoving for a week
so just make sure you know where you are going
