Whenever we ask LO if he's pooped, he'd always say no. Last night my husband said "I smell poop, did you poo poo?" to him. LO not only quickly said "no" but went on to say that "baby (what he calls his sister sometimes) poopooed". Where is he learning this? Is it part of normal development? Imaginative play perhaps?

Yup it's normal!
Charlie is ashamed of his poops too and lies about them all the time. But then when I pick him up to change him, he starts telling me "I want to see!" (He likes to look at his poops.) So it's not like he doesn't know he pooped...

Yeah, the LO seems to mainly lie about pooping too so I guess that is normal!

Lol, luckily LO can't talk yet. So she can't lie.

DD sometimes lies, but she gets this really devious look on her face when she does it, so I think she thinks she's playing a game. I think it's pretty normal developmental stuff, though.

@mrbee: @Andrea: @Honeybee: Thanks! Good to know it's normal. Yeah, he's been denying that he's pooped for a while now. It was the fact that he tried to deflect the blame onto his sister that made us raise an eyebrow.
