My BFF's daughter has fallen out of the swing and of the couch. Most recently, the couch, before she turned 2 and broke her clavicle. But I am told ALL babies fall off at some point. Scary though!!!

@mrsjyw: My daughter fell off the bed, I posted about it and I was distraught, she was about 10 months or so at the time. I felt so guilty and awful, but she was fine within a few minutes, so with time I have felt much better about it. In short, these things do happen, even when do you your absolute best to avoid them.

@mrsjyw: Our first ER trip we were in the waiting room with a mother and a boy not much older than Wagon Jr. The mom was on her smartphone and the boy was playing with books and blocks. Both of them totally calm and quiet and happy. He had a huge bloody split lip and there was still sauce all over his face from dinner. I think he had fallen out of his highchair at dinner. We could tell this was not this mom's first visit to the ER...!! That really helped calm me down because I realized it was a rite of passage for moms, especially boy moms I think this was her second or third son so she was a veteran.

Us, on the other hand... Wagon Jr. was walking around with no shoes on and I was feeding him baby food pouches because he had fallen right before dinnertime!! And I had to connect two chairs to lie down because I was lightheaded from the stress!!!

Sigh, unfortunately yes. Both son and daughter. Luckily, fell unto carpet and wasn't too high up., was just on mattress and bed springs. But heart attack! Oh, and my son cracked the wood on the crib, which was next to the bed. He's got a big hard head.

No, but my mum dropped her while we were visiting a few weeks ago... She kind of tumbled off her knee and onto the floor. I was upset about it but thought my mum was sat on quite a low sofa and A has fallen from greater heights just falling herself from standing.

DS has fallen off the bed, onto our hardwoods, on my watch. It was AWFUL. The worst feeling in the world.

Glad to hear he recovered well and good for you to wake him up and do checks during the night!!

DD fell off the bed at 6 months (miscommunication) between DH and I). She hit the nightstand on the way down. We called our ped who said he wanted to see her, and of course it was all terrifying to us more than her. She had a little mark on her forehead, but she was totally fine, thank God. Parent fail.

DS slid out of the stroller when he was 3 months old because I forgot to buckle him in. Luckily he landed feet first and just kind of fell over.

When he was 10 months old he was crawling over my legs (I was sitting on the floor) at our Aunt's house, fell forehead first onto the tile and had a nice big goose egg. Luckily she is a firefighter/paramedic and reassured us he was fine.

When he was 12 months old someone didn't close our screen door all the way, he went to bang on the door and did a somersault down the step and onto the concrete patio. Didn't even cry. DH says when I left the room he went running back over to the door to do it again

When he was 15 months old he dove head first over the arm of our couch onto the hardwood floor. It was like everything was in slow motion and I couldn't get to him fast enough.

We went camping when he was 16 months old and there was a small rocky hill from where our tent trailer sat to the campsite itself. He fell down that hill on his behind, slid head first on his belly and rolled down it. I hated that hill.

M did a face plant out of her rocker when she was 7 months old. Scared the crap out of me. She cried for maybe two minutes and then was totally fine. Far more traumatizing for me than for her!

Yup. He rolled right off the bed at around 7 months.

We called his ped and the nurse told us that it happens all the time. Like, seriously, it's one of the most common things that happens to babies. We were instructed to bring him in only if he wasn't acting normally, but he was fine.

Yes, rite of passage! C was the same age, sick with his first fever and jumped off the bed. I cried and felt like crap, but we both lived to tell the tale!

Not yet....but I know it will happen one of these days! She has fallen over on the couch in a face plant...

The same thing happened with M and my DH. He had her on the bed and could see her falling but didn't quite get to her on time. She was just fine. I was upset that she fell but glad that DH told me about it when I get home!

Sorry your LO had a fall but glad that he's ok!

DH was suppose to watch DD while I was getting ready for work in the morning. I was pumping in the bathroom when I heard a THUMP! I dropped the pumps and ran into the room. DH fell asleep and DD rolled off the bed. She was 6 months old. DH tried to convince me she landed on all fours...like a cat.

N (same age as A) fell off the couch a few weeks ago, I knew he was fine because he was crying and crawling towards me at the same time. It was such a sad sight I burst out laughing. He also fell off my nephew's toddler bed in July, I surrounded it with bookshelves and chairs so he can nap but he kicked one of the chairs away from the bed and fell. I was outside and one of the cousins got him. He was fine but I felt so bad for not being there right away, he was in a strange room all alone and I wasn't the first person he saw.

Yes to bed. Worst fall ever...fell out of cart cover STRAPPED in at Home Depot into concrete floor. I thought I was going to die. Didn't even have a bump on his head but it HAD to hurt my poor baby!

My 3 month old fell off the bed (he rolled and I didn't know he could do that!) and we went to the Peditrician for an emergency appt and she said he was 100% fine and I was probably the one who needed a prescription! She prescribed a galls of wine to relax me when I got home!! He was totally ok- but I still feel guilty about it
