I thought they would check my LO's eyes at her school physical/well child check but they didn't. Maybe this is something they do at 5 years old instead? I have bad vision but DH's is ok so I'm just curious if my kids will follow in my footsteps or his (let's hope his!)

Yes, they test vision at our wellness checks. I think they started at the 3 year check-up?

They did for the first time at his 3 year well visit. But it was kind of a "we'll see if he cooperates, if not, no big deal."

No but he has a hospital appointment soon due to headaches, and I assume they will be looking for vision problems. Though how they do that in a not quite 2 year old I have no idea!

They checked with the big chart at her four year well visit. The chart has shapes/objects rather than letters. She got to a point where she couldn't see them and turned to me and asked for help

They started at 3 here. The nurse said it's pretty difficult at this age because their attention span is practically 0. She did well enough.

We went last month at 2.75. We both have bad vision and just wanted to get a baseline for her. She did much better than expected!

My daughter had an eye turn and needed glasses so we've been going to the ophthalmologist since she was 10 months.

We just had an appointment with an eye doctor, it was a full test and my son did great. He's almost 5.

we took LO to the eye doctor at 7 months. It was covered by our insurance so I figured why not. Both DH and I have glasses.
