I have always wanted kids. I just wasn't 100% sure kids were going to be in my future. However when I met DH I knew we would have kids. Luckily we have agreed on the number of kids.

Nope! I didn't want kids until I met DH. He was pretty ambivalent towards the thought of kids so I don't know what changed my mind. We decided to be one and done though.
My dad was ecstatic when he found out I was pregnant because he was so convinced that he'd only ever have granddogs.

Yeah, more or less. I didn't think about it that much growing up. I was very focused on school and extra-curriculars. I met DH at 18, got engaged at 19 and we both felt like our life together wouldn't be complete without kids.
But it was certainly not a crazy burning desire all my life. Just after we got married
FWIW, I've never enjoyed other people's kids that much. My best friends' kids are cool but beyond that, I'm not really into it. I don't think that makes me a bad person or that I'll be a bad parent.
