Babies are 11 months and we have not done a overnight trip without the babies yet.
There's an opportunity coming up that we could be away from the babies for a weekend.
ETA: I have been on a few business trips for 1-2 days but DH was home and usually had help.

Yep. Once when Xander was 5 months, we did two nights away. Then around 9 months, we did a night away. After we had two, we didn't do a night away until the youngest was 18 months. And we have a night away planned in October for our anniversary (they will be 3.5 and 21 months).

yes, when my kiddo was about 11 months. My husband was working out of the country and my parents came up to watch LO for a week. It was wonderful (and strange) and of course I didn't get a good nights sleep until the last night I was there. Ha. My parents have offered again and I've pocketed that for a future date

We did once when DS1 was 6 months for our anniversary. Only other time he was away overnight was when I was in the hospital having DS2. DS2 has never been without us overnight.

We have been away from them overnight 2 times... about to be 3 tomorrow. It's always nerve wracking for me because I'm terrified of something happening to us or them while we're away. Once I get to where we're going, I'm usually much more relaxed as long as we can do facetime with them a few times.

No, never. But I would LOVE to! Trouble is, my inlaws are our only childcare and they have E (and S, when I go back to work) three days a week, so there's no appetite to have them nights/weekends.

We've done it a few times now, but always with my MIL in charge of them. The first time we went away, my son was about 16 months. As they have gotten older, I've gotten more comfortable with it. I think I could even do a week at this point (most we have done is 3 nights).

For My 3.5 year old:
1 night when she was 13 months (just me away)
6 nights when she was 15 months (Me away for all of them, hubs also away for 2 of them, I was traveling for work and then my hubs had a death in the family the same week!)
4 nights when she was 18 months (both of us away)
4 nights when she was 2.5 (both of us away)
2 nights when she was 3 (both of us away at the hospital to have LO2 but she visited during the day)
She's also done various sleep overs with our close friends who we swap babysitting with. It's easier to just leave them overnight then wake them up to take them home after a date night.
For my 9 month old:
One night when he was 6 months (just me away)
One night when he was 8 months (just me away)
We won't both leave him overnight until he's weaned. He tends to scream at night if I'm not there and I don't want anyone else to have to deal with that except my husband. Hopefully around 15 months like his sister was, but kid loves the boob so who knows.

DH has, but not me and not the both of us! It's probably not happening for a long time since DD2 is coming in Jan! But we are fine with that; it's not like we have a budget to really go away anyway and I'd like the girls to be slightly older so it's easier for my mom/parents to watch them overnight.

Not both of us! Lo is almost 29 months too. We might go on a babymoon this fall, otherwise the first time LO will be away from both of us will be when I'm in labor

Yes! We went away for a weekend when he was 20mo and then for 10 days to Europe when he was 22mo. My sister stayed with him both times and he did great!

@jape14: There's an Europe trip next year. Orignally thinking the twins will stay home with grandma but the idea taking grandma with us so we have additional help is currently on the table. We'll have to see what we can afford.

Yes, just this past May. It was wonderful and we were able to recharge as a couple. I can't wait to do it again once I wean my still-baking baby.

Kind of. I spent 2 nights away when I was in the hospital having W, and my husband stayed with me, but he went home every night to do dinner and bedtime and then my parents stayed overnight and took him to daycare. I'd love to spend a night away non-hospitalized but since I'm breastfeeding and he won't take a bottle I guess it's a ways off.

Yup, many times. The first was for a wedding at 5 months old. It was only overnight (less than 24 hours) and my mom watched him. After he turned one we would have a weekend away every few months thanks to my mom. She really enjoys watching him and he loves going to her house.

Yes quite a few times now. We did 5 days away when he was 8 months old, 4 days when he was 15 months and a couple of shorter trips 1-2 days for work issues where DH and I both had to travel. He always stays with my mom or my MIL. We are leaving him twice this fall, once for 5 days with my mom and once for a week with my MIL and FIL. I always miss him but it is great bonding time with his grandparents who live all around the country/world!

Three times. We:
- Went to Italy for 8 days when they were 15 months & 3 years.
- Went to Miami for a weekend for a wedding when they were 3.5 and almost 2.
- Just now went to Bermuda for 5 days at ages 2 and 4.
For the longer trips, my inlaws watched them at their house; for the short one my SIL and her friend watched them at ours. We feel so blessed to have people willing to do this for us - I think it's good for everyone involved. I will say that at 15 months, my 1 year old called her Nanna "NannaMommy" for a few days, and that hurt my feelings a little, but I got over it.

DH has been away from her for 6 nights. I haven't yet. We're planning a week to 10 day long trip without her when she's 18-20 months old. DH is probably going to go out of town for a night next month. I need to plan a girl's trip and leave her with DH for a night or two since to make it even.

When we had one, we went away a couple of times from 18 months on. With two, my only night away from the kids was for a sleep study a few weeks ago. Hoping for another night away for our anniversary in October. We may also send them up to my parents if I have to have surgery soon.

@bluestriped bee: yes once, we both left her overnight for an anniversary trip. we left early saturday morning and came back sunday late afternoon. She was 2 at the time and we had her grandparents come to our home to stay with her. she was fine but i was so worried the entire time

Yes many times - M's done a ton of one-night sleepovers at her grandparents homes. We've gone away at least 7 times, the longest being 4 nights. We just did our first two-night trip with my parents watching 2 kids and it was fine. I think it's great for everyone involved!
