The hobby thread got me thinking. Have you guys who have hobbies go to conventions for your hobbies?
I have been to the yearly quilting convention that we have in my area! I like conventions though... I go to comic con and other conventions.

Kinda of... Before my DD was born my husband and I went to PAX (penny arcade expo) twice in Boston. He is big into video games and board game. I play along cause I love him and they are mostly fun.

I used to be a salsa dancer and I went to several "congresses". I even went to Puerto Rico to attend one.

@babybysurprise: I want to go to PAX!! There is a version in Seattle! Maybe some day. I use to follow the web comic.

@Raindrop: it was a lot of fun. Just be prepared to wait a lot for panels (if you plan to go to any). I think they started one in Texas too (PAX south)
My favorite panel was definitely the guys who created "cards against humanity". They gave away cookies and milk to the whole audience. Also if you go to the panel where people can ask questions to gabe and Jerry bring some tissues.

I've gone to several astronomy conventions and large weekend star parties. The latter are really fun, and involve hundreds of people hanging out in a field with really expensive equipment, staying up all night, and looking through telescopes. I've driven over 8 hours each way for some of these.

Sure. I would love to do more cake decorating/training. There is a show not too far from me but it was in a bad weekend last year so I never pursued it.

I don't have an option I can vote really. I plan to go to CookieCon in the next few years, and hopefully the Cake Cruise as well! I just haven't been able to yet.

My hobby is photography. I've been to some major photography fairs, like Paris Photo and the photo festival in Arles. I think it would be neat to do one of those week-long photo workshops in some exotic place.

I went to a couple jazzercise conventions before I had LO1. Hoping to go again in the future. They are so much fun!
