We host holiday dinner party for our friends every year and that was the theme once. We had a prize for the ugliest one.
My vest is from Goodwill and DH made his out of pom poms and other dollar bin finds.

Yup! I've been to a few... we found most of our gems at Goodwill or Walmart (or Kmart).

We've tried for several Christmases with our extended family already but never succeeded. So we gave up.

we had one the first two years we lived in our apartment (then I got pregnant lol). they're fun! I think most people find them from older relatives, savers, goodwill.

We've been to 2 and they are really fun!! Ugly sweaters are usually really uncomfortable/scratchy though lol.

I'm doing an Ugly Christmas Sweater Run this year. MIL picked a sweater out for me (fun).
I had an ugly Christmas sweater featuring a sea otter floating with a decorated Christmas tree on it's chest. I didn't exactly want to take it when I moved from my parents house - before ugly sweater parties were a thing. My mom now wears it (non-ironically) so I can't take it back.

I've never been to one but I was shopping at Target the other day and saw ugly sweater winner pins for a contest...maybe I'll suggest it for Christmas this year!

Yep! This is the 8th annual party for us!! We're trying to set a date now since those December weekends get booked up fast! We started in college and then I've continued the tradition in my little community! It's always a good time! I've found sweaters at goodwill/thrift stores (we hit a jackpot in the Midwest one year), I've made them and even found accessories (mistletoe headband, elf ears hats, stuffed angel earrings).
My mom found one for R too! It's big but that means she can rock it next year too.

Hahaha, yes! It was awesome! We were all teachers so we either raided our mothers' closets (a lot of us had moms who were teachers and we all know teachers are notorious for being the queens of ugly holiday sweaters!) or went to thrift shops and bought some. They were so hideous they were awesome.
Best part is that we all wore them to work the last day before Christmas break and pretended in total seriousness that we liked them and were wearing them as part of our normal wardrobe. I'm trying to find a picture but no luck right now.

We have hosted them at our house the past couple of years. I think it's pretty fun! It seems like it has become such a popular idea that the best ugly sweaters seem to go fast from the thrift stores around here.

We've been to a few! It's hilarious! They've come from eBay, Goodwill/thrift shop, and home-made!
I made the stupid reindeer sweater for DH! Won him a few prizes!

I've been to one, but didn't have an ugly sweater. I just stuck those stick-on gift wrap bows all over the long sleeve tee I was wearing.
