Our breakfast at IHOP was short lived because my LO wouldn't stop whining and throwing food. We took our food to go!

No, but I totally removed LO from a storytime yesterday because he wouldn't settle down (and bopped a baby on the head and kept threatening to do it again...)

Yep! If he's really fussy, we know it's time to go. I'd hate to irritate other diners who want a quiet meal.

Not exactly but usually we're out with more than just the 3 of us so we each take turns walking him around outside.

I'm sure we will at some point! We haven't yet, I've only taken her out 2x.

I absolutely have! I once even had to put DD in timeout during a meal because she wasn't behaving.

I don't have kids yet so I can't answer, but this reminds me of this great Chinese restaurant we went to when I was growing up. The first time my parents went, I was a baby and started crying. My mom got up to take me outside and the owner came over and said, "Where are you going?" She said she was taking me outside because I was crying and he said, "No, you sit and eat. This is my restaurant, if people don't like it they can go." Lol! Needless to say we became frequent customers. The owner's wife used to pick me up and carry me into the kitchen and around the restaurant while my parents ate. They were so wonderful. I hope when I have kids we can find a great family place like that!

@MrsSCB: we used to live right down the street from a restaurant just like this! The manager and the owner would come take the kids to "help" them so we could eat. It was amazing! Sigh, I miss that place.
Eta: usually if one/both kids are acting up, we take turns. One person sits outside with the perp while the other person eats, and then we switch.

We've had to hurry up but not cancel altogether. Usually one of us just takes her out and so far it hasn't happened except toward the end of the meal.

It hasn't been a problem yet, but when it does happen, we will either send one of us outside or leave.

If LO is getting fussy someone will go walk with her while the other person eats, and then when that person is done they take over with walking.
I've only eaten with LO out once by myself and she was fine..... she took longer to eat then I did! We also go out without DH on play dates, but then usually she's entertained by her friends so she will sit still.
I did just go to eat with my friends and LO didn't let me eat my full meal, but I was able to stay in the restaurant, I just had to keep her constantly entertained so I packed up the rest of my meal to go.

Our action plan is to let one person finish eating a leisurely meal and the other takes LO outside and will sit in the car or walk with him. That way we won't disturb other diners but we don't both have to miss out on a warm meal.

not yet.....he does his fair share of screaming though, so i'm sure one day we'll have to

We don't even eat out all that often but, yep.
