@Dandelion: I had a HelloBee meetup with some local bees and it took a lot of effort to map usernames to real names.

I don;t have a problem with posting stuff on facebook. I am pretty good at keeping up with the new ways to set privacy. And although I use my real name, in my professional career life, I go only by my maiden name.....so that protects me from being found by employers and clients. I have lots of married female friends who do that. Other people also do the firstname middlename or spell or shorten parts of their name so it reduces the likelihood of being found. It is pretty common to do this amongst all my psychologist friends!
And more and more, i just try to be conscious of what i post and do what @Radish: said. Even on here, i try not to vent etc about family/friends on the off chance that they join the site one day and can identify me from the little details of my life i have given throughout my posts.

This thread has been interesting to me, and I'm clearly not the most involved person on HB. But the fact that snark sites exist and people go to another place to talk about the people here just amazes me and makes me wonder about the level of maturity that people are fronting here versus "there". I don't have personal relationships here because I'm just not that outgoing nor do I have the time to maintain the relationships.
I don't discredit anyone who does want to invest the time in relationships.
But seriously, some people just need to grow up! If you don't want to be found, then DONT! I know people who blog and they have two facebook pages. One is their personal page and the other is linked to their blog. But then again, the couple of bloggers (not HB related) that I know, do so for a living and aren't trying necessarily to seperate their personal and online lives.

@MamaG: yeah, though that is off-topic, I will say that I am seriously suspicious that many of our "experts on life" of HB are GOMI shit talkers. Makes me sad, not because of their actions but mostly because they are so heavily invested in both sites and it makes me wonder if they have a life at all and why they are so hungry for attention.
I've been keeping up with this thread to see if someone I know may admit something (hope not!) but I'm just done with it now because I feel like it's one of those that might get ugly for no good reason and is like to leave before my image of anyone gets tainted.
@mrs. bird: I am appauld. Here I was thinkin I was talking to a bird all these months? You sicken me! Good thing the real you is really hot, even after you've slept in.

@CupQuakeWalk: I basically only use facebook and hellobee so I had to google GOMI- they have a whole thread just for hating HB- written be people on HB!?
How weird

@lizzywiz: @CupQuakeWalk: me too! Heck, they have a post about THIS thread!!!

@Mamaof2: maybe that was the whole point to this thread? *poke* You never know. If so, it worked marvelously.

@CupQuakeWalk: I'm not on gomi. No need to be. I deal with any issues I have on HB here on HB . . . probably to a fault.

@CupQuakeWalk: i think this thread was @MsLipGloss: was of telling us she's actually a man named Bubba.

@lizzywiz: @CupQuakeWalk: @Mamaof2: I was curious about GOMI (never heard if it before) but they are reading this thread and talking shit about it. What assholes and mommy creepers! But haters will hate.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: in her defense, she never did give us her name, so it could be Bubba. But who would admit to being called bubba? So I almost for blame her...him?

I'm off to google GOMI as I'm totally in the dark.
I've run into a few liars in my time, but I take everything online with a grain of salt.

@californiadreams: Am I missing something, is there a way to search GOMI or whatever it is to see what's been said about us? I really don't want to register there just to search my username.

@StbHisMrs: you can just google "GOMI hellobee" and it will come up.
pomegranate / 3383 posts
@Arden: maybe I've missed a lot (and I'm not on FB), but I distinctly remember you saying somewhere on HB that your real name isn't Arden.
I'm an open book here. My name is Sam and I'm ridiculously fab.

This thread is interesting... I try to keep pretty anonymous but always tell the truth though there are certain things I never say (eg last name). I think someone would have to either try really really hard to stalk me or just already know me to be able to identify who I am (except a couple peeps who I either met or have shared more personal info with). I'm really nosy though so I like to know about drama, lol
Irl, I just recently found out that the husband of one of my "aunts" (not blood related but very close to my family) is a total fraud. They'd been married FIFTEEN years and she just found out he's a total fake. Like, he is a minister at a church but has been practicing another religion in secret fake. And he has been having online/emotional affairs and maybe physical ones throughout their marriage. It's totally sickening

I can't recall ever being shocked by lies from a person I knew on the internet, or really even real life. I do have 2 Facebook friends who have completely 100% made up names. I still call my BIL by his "fake" name sometimes!
I heard of GOMI because of something that happened on HB in the past & it mostly befuddles me. A lot of things they snark on, I would never notice or care about. But I know people who are bitchy about small things in real life (and I'm bitchy in my head all the time!), so I'm not surprised.

@Arden: Add me to the not-put-out club. I feel like there's a culpability on my end, too. I mean, if I wanted to send you a huge lump of cash, or make you Lorelei's guardian in my will, well, I'd better make sure I know exactly who you are and all your personal details. But, it's the net. I like you. I consider you a friend. But you are free to share/not share anything about yourself and your life at your own discretion and it doesn't bug me if I don't get ushered into the inner sanctum. I mean, I totally would go in there if invited ( ), but it seems pretty normal not to turn everyone you meet, especially in public forums, into your bosom buddies. We are totally cool.
The only things you all don't know about me are probably things we're all better off for. So you are totally welcome for that.

I don't really know of anyone who has lied that bad.
But since the minute, no second, I have ever turned on the computer to the www intermanet, I have never ever thought anyone could be who they actually could be. I think EVERYONE fabricates apart of them to some degree. Look at the duck lip selfies for example. Is that how you look in real life? In the case of privacy and professionalism, you either need to go incognito or stay away from the internet completely.

@Mrs. Twine: Come on, now. The group needs to know about your double life as a Vegas show girl. This Minnesota farming stuff has gone on long enough.

My name is actually Erin, but sorry guys, my last name isn't Pye. Sloane and Adrienne are my girls' actual names too, and I don't mind sharing them because I love their names so much!
@Arden: I'm still a fan of yours.
FWIW, I have a biz page on FB and to have one, you have to link a personal page as the administrator. The fact that you are the administrator, is viewable by likers of your page. They cannot have access to your personal page more than any other non Facebook friend, but they can see your username and click on it, send a friend req., etc. So, if a blogger wanted a business page on FB, but didn't want blog readers seeing her original private FB because her blog readers know her by a different name, it makes sense to create another, separate personal profile as her administrator for the blog page.
Using that second page you had to create for your biz page as one to befriend people you've only met on the internet? Not only does that make perfect sense- it's smart.

Okay.... so this is totally off topic but I just checked out GOMI and I'm on there! I'm on there!! I trawled through 70 pages of "I hate her" "Mr Bee is a secret millionaire" before I found myself (ego, much!!)..... I kept saying to Dh "I'm a total drama llama, why hasn't anybody slagged me off?". Then I found it! It was my thread about how I didn't understand how people didn't have time to keep on top of their housework when they WOH and have a child.....! In fairness, now I have a (almost) toddler, I'm totally not doing to well (my house is a bombsite today and I'm slumped on the sofa during naptime, on HB) .... so, yeah.... you got me!
