Olive woke up last night very unhappy... turned out that she had a painful poop and she wanted to be changed.

I got a new diaper on her and she went back down... but then every time I took my hand off of her, she would dramatically lift her head off of the crib bed and start saying, "Daddy! Daddy!"

She doesn't really say my name very often and plus I felt bad for her. Plus I was tired myself. So I lay down on the floor next to her crib and snaked my arm through the crib slats. My hand was on her for about an hour or so, most of which I spent asleep. When I finally woke up, she didn't mind at all when I slipped out of the room.

I used to do this all the time with Charlie, but in retrospect feel like it was a mistake. But as a one time thing with a kid in pain, I am ok with it!

Have you ever fallen asleep lying next to your LO's crib, with your hand snaking through the crib slats?
