Yes, my husband threw me one when we were still dating but since he can't lie to save his life, I had a pretty good idea about it. It was still sweet though.

I returned the favor a few years later and he was completely speechless when he walked through the door. I guess that makes me a good liar, lol.

We're big on surprises around here. Not that any of us like being center of attention!
For my husband's 30th I threw him a surprise party to throw him off the scent of his REAL 30th birthday surprise! hahah.

He's got it hard for my 30th because it's 6 days away from my due date

I had one. Except just as we were leaving for dinner, the answering machine (yes, this was a long time ago) went off and I heard the restaurant calling to confirm our party of 12.

I had a surprise bridal shower. That was amazing. I really didn't know and they have a video of me screaming as I walked into my own house with tons of friends waiting inside. I had been arguing with my fiance about how I didn't want to go home yet, but I had wanted to go to some plant sale. So I went from irritated to elated.

So of. My husband and a friend threw me a surprise party for my 30th but my husband hinted so much at it that I knew it was happening. He let me choose where and when and who to invite. Haha! It was still a lot of fun.

I've never had one, but I've always kinda wanted one. On one hand, I think it would be totally sweet that someone went through all that trouble to surprise me. On the other hand, I'm like you and I hate being the center of attention (my bridal shower was not fun for me at all because all the attention was on me).

If DH was planning it, he'd probably end up telling me. He's awful at keeping secrets and he always wants to give me gifts the day he bought them.

My parents threw me a small surprise party for my tenth birthday. I was really surprised that day. My husband and mom threw me one for my 21st birthday, but I knew that one was coming.

I threw my best friend a surprise party for her 16th birthday and my husband one for his 30th. My hisband's 30th happened after we had gone out of town to celebrate with just the two of us so he really didn't expect a party.

My husband threw me a surprise birthday party for my 30th, and my BMs threw me a surprise wedding shower. Both times, I had absolutely NO clue.

My birthday is in March, so my husband had his cousin send out an evite for a St. Patrick's Day party. She even sent the evite out to all her friends (so I wouldn't notice it was just family), then had to go back and email all her friends to say it was my birthday party and don't show up! I got all dressed up in my green and was ready to go. I opened the door and got covered in silly string...it took me a few minutes to figure out what the heck was going on!

For my bridal shower, all along I thought I was planning one of my bridesmaid's baby showers. I made baby-themed cake pops and my mom and I bought baby-themed balloons and stuff. I show up to my friend's mom's house and recognized my college roommates who would have no business being at my friend's baby shower. I got out of the car and everyone yelled surprise. It was awesome, and hysterical spending the entire day explaining why there were baby-themed decorations at my bridal shower!

On both occasions, I was completely surprised and so touched.
