Your logic cracks me up! We don't lock them since most of the time we are either at a tiny but busy playground where you can see it the whole time or we are at a larger but not busy playground and both are gated (the larger one is private too which would cut down on issues.)

I wish I had one when a few times like at a large outdoor museum, it was really hard to handle it there but we also needed it since it was so much walking.

I'm dying over the fact that you leave your stroller next to a nicer, unlocked one. Too funny.

I wondered about this while at the Bronx Zoo. We have a midpriced stroller, so I did something similar to you. I always parked it next to something more expensive! There were so many nice strollers left unattended for long periods of time.

I've never seen anyone lock their stroller here in Chicago. That said, I've been surprised by how many people leave their strollers unattended at the playground or public places like restaurants or museums. When we're at the playground, I always keep an eye on our stroller and when we're out and about, I keep our stroller with us. DH often gets annoyed that I'm so paranoid about it but I know he would be 100x more annoyed if our stroller were stolen!

I'm paranoid about this...but I worry if I lock it I'll be labeled the weird paranoid lady! I just keep it close. Our regular playground is pretty small. I also worry about leaving it outside or on the porch but dragging it up the stairs is such a pain. Soon enough we will both be walking there on foot to alleviate this problem!

We took an NJ transit bus to visit family and placed our Bugaboo in the luggage storage compartment. When we got off at our stop, it was gone! This was 5 years ago... Never even thought someone would take such a bulky stroller, but the resale value is high.

I used to think of it when we lived in Boston but never did. I probably should worry about it where I live now but don't.

We don't because we are always near our stroller. Luckily I haven't heard of this being a problem where we live either. I don't keep my wallet or phone on it when I walk away, though.

There is a fancy daycare on the upper east side I pass by on my way to the doctor. They must have no stroller storage because all the fancy strollers are left outside unattended. No one locks them. It is amazing they don't get stolen!

@Mrs. Taco: we've been going to Disney a lot and yeah, I don't think any strollers are ever locked. It might be against rules too because I know cast members are allowed to move your stroller at any time. It happens a lot before parades. I definitely plan it so that all our valuables go in a backpack or crossbody bag I take while in line. We won a stuffed animal last weekend, and I just prayed no one took it while we were on rides. I read that you can check-in purchases somewhere for free though.
