If I have to work outside the home (and I do) I want it to be something I find meaningful. So I'm changing careers. I'm nervous! Moving from legal field to education.

@DillonLion: I never have, but my DH just moved from education to law enforcement. What kind of teaching are you going to be doing?

I'm trying! I'm a lawyer and I also have a side business doing photography (weddings and newborns mostly). I'm trying to transition to photography full time in the next few years because it makes me happy!

I went from business/marketing to physical therapy. Unfortunately I don't love PT and am trying to think of something new that will incorporate my skills so I don't feel like the boat load of $$ I spent on grad school will be wasted. Maybe something in the wellness/ health field.

@DillonLion: I had a corporate career for several years before I went to law school . . . the week before my first set of final exams my old boss called and offered me a huge promotion/raise if I would come back (I had been gone a little over a year at that point). I ALMOST went back. I do miss not having to bill time! But if I had, I would never have met DH. So, hi ho, hi ho, it's all to bill I go!

Nope! well, yes when I became a SAHM. I have changed industries (nonprofit to agency back to nonprofit) but my job function is very similar to what I did when I first started working.

Yes, I went from hospitality to education and it was the best decision I have ever made. I'm sure you will feel the same way!
