Now that it's getting warmer, I'm thinking about mass producing iced coffee:

Anyone ever make their own iced coffee before? Curious how it went!!

No but that sounds so good right now! My mom has made ice out of coffee to put in their coffee.

My favorite coffee shop in town makes their iced coffee that way, and it is so good! I would tell you to go for it and enjoy.

I just make regular coffee and pour it over ice and sweetened condensed milk. I also make coffee Popsicles with regular coffee and sweetened condensed milk. So tasty!

I make coffee ice cubes with left over coffee. The best way ive found for me is to brew a pot then let it get to room temp before adding ice. I then just fix it with what i like via cream and sugar.

I always do! I just brew a stronger cup over ice with the keurig

I make coffee concentrate in my French press. Very similar to pioneer woman, but not in a commercial sized quantity. Clean up is easier too. 1/3 cup coffee 1.5 cups water 12 hours ...prepare concentrate with equal parts water...perfection.

Every morning! two k-cups on strongest setting over full cup of ice, add my fat free caramel macchiato creamer, mix and YUM.

Yup! I just brew coffee, let it cool and stick it in the fridge. But I will brew darker knowing it'll get watered down.
Been meaning to try that recipe!

Yes, but I do make it the night before so it cools well. I also sweeten it either when it is hot or I make a simple syrup.

I do. Mmm Iced Dunkin Donuts coffee sounds really good this time of year.
I just make it really strong and cool it in the fridge.
Oh, I pour it into ice cube trays to freeze. Then just grab a few cubes and add to a glass of milk. Really easy and chilled iced coffee anytime you want it.

I've wanted to try her recipe since she posted it, but never have... I think I'll have to give it a try this summer!
(If it *ever* warms up!)

Yup! My dad used to use the instant Folgers grains then pours in his own milk, sugar, and ice. We also make our own bubble milk tea. So easy and we can make gallons at a time for the same price as one cup at the local store.

I do occasionally. It is more a result of leftover coffee. If I make a pot and have leftovers I'll stick those in the fridge and then use it to make iced coffee. I add half & half a a bit of sugar. Never used sweetened condensed milk, but that is SMART!

Yes, but just by brewing a strong pot, pouring it into a pitcher, and sticking it in the fridge. Then I just pour a cup over ice and fix it the way I like it. It never tastes as good as what I get from a coffee shop, though...

No, but I make iced tea all the time! What I do is brew the tea normally in a mug, and then use a cocktail shaker and mix it up with the ice until it's chilled. Nice individual serving of iced tea! That would probably also work with coffee I think?

i cold brew coffee almost every day and have a huge container in my fridge at all times (don't like hot coffee). we use an hourglass system from amazon. my reco would be to use coarse ground coffee, as strong as you can stand (i buy 100% kona at trader joe's and coarse grind it myself), and then reuse the grounds for a second batch.

Looks good, will try (as soon as I finish my iced coffee from dunkies!)

@lavender: don't even get me started on how much I miss dunkin donuts

DH makes the best iced coffee! He makes it with Nescafe instant, and sweetened condensed milk. Yum! Now if it would only get warm enough for me to want some. :o/

Yep, I cold brew it with a Bodum French press specifically for iced coffee. Not sure how necessary the special French press is, but we need a separate one anyway, since my husband doesn't like iced coffee and uses the other press for his hot. Plus, the iced coffee version is huge and I find that I can get about 4 cups from it - so that's 4 days for me, with my low caffeine tolerance.

Daily! It's the best. Brewed coffee, milk and stevia with tons of ice.

Yep! Double strength brew and then add ice. This year I'm going to make coffee ice cubes so its not as diluted!

We have a toddy and make iced coffee every week! It's concentrated so you can add it to water, ice, cream (or chocolate milk, like I do sometimes :). The toddy helps remove a ton of acidity that comes from hot brewing to cold and lasts for weeks.

We love it.. as you can tell

Love ice coffee! Another vote for the toddy cold brew. It's so freaking good! You can make a large batch and use it for a while. It even works for hot coffee, just add hot water. But I think it's the best way to make iced coffee.

We make a strong concentrate with our French press as well and also keep an airtight container of it in the fridge. Perfect for the hot weather here in Hawaii!

When I go to the gym in the summer, dh will make me a cup of coffee in a large glass and put it in the freezer to chill so when I get back he can drop a few ice cubes in and surprise me with an iced coffee...love it!

Yes! When I saw this thread I was going to link to that PW article but you already did it's delicious and cheap!

All the time. Would make a Starbucks iced vanilla latte every day when I was in law school.

I do with Nescafé! You shake it with water and sweetener in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and then add milk. It makes a delicious foam on top!

If I have coffee in the afternoon I make it iced! I don't usually have ground coffee around for making in the coffee pot though so I just use the Starbucks Via I have...
I usually just prep it like it instructs, add my sugar & cream (in my case rice milk or chocolate hemp milk), and then pour over ice in another glass... pour it from one to the other a couple times (to cool it without the ice getting all melty) and it's ready to go!
I myself am no pioneer woman so I need something with quick prep! lol
