Nope, you are lucky!

@Mrs. Jacks: We just went to a neighborhood meetup with some younger families. They seemed nice, and we're going to try to do it monthly. But they're not soulmates.

Not yet, my friends who are mommas, one is a little moer liberal than I would be, and the other is going to be way more concervative than me! I am planning on pumping and then bottle feeding, but am not going to beat myself up to be a EBF mom if it doesn't work. I feel like I'm a little different with that!

I have a couple friends who think similarly to me. There is a nearby center for breastfeeding and they have some classes that I think i'll take to meet people (baby wearing and momma/baby yoga). It would be nice to have some local friends with babies who won't be weirded out by the fact that we EBF on demand:)

I'm not a mama yet, so I don't have a mama soul mate, but I do have inspiration mamas! A couple different moms from a preschool class I taught last year are amazing- I totally want their secrets because their kids were a teacher's dream!

I am a pt nanny and have been with the family for 2.5 years. I was engaged when I started with them, and their parenting styles were soo different than anything I'd ever seen. They coslept, breastfed their 2.5 yr old, she was already potty trained, and was the most well-behaved, respectful little girl i'd ever met- so I knew they were doing something right!

I got pregnant after being with them 1.5 yrs and immediately started reading the same books they had followed, I came to decide on basically all the same parenting choices they did- especially after seeing first hand how well their now 5 yo daughter turned out.

I still work for them and it's the perfect situation. The mom is quite a bit older than me (she had kids in her mid-thirties, I started in my young twenties) but I definitely consider her a dear friend as well as mentor and employer!

Other than her, no. I don't know many other moms, but I'm getting more involved. Just joined a healthy living group that meets once a month (they tend to be more crunchy), joinin moms club this fall, and also la Leche league.

I'm jealous! Please send some of your CD-extended BF-traveling-outdoorsy mama finding juju my way! Several of my good friends from college share interests and parenting styles with me, but none of them live near by

I have one RL friend that's like my mama soul mate. We're similar in a lot of ways and it's nice to bounce ideas off each other because we just "get" each other. We have similar views on how we want to raise our children and we have similar taste in everything else too (fashion, home decor, entertainment). Our husbands are really close friends (that's how we met) so it's fun for all of us to hang out!

I would like to have one. I have a friend that is pretty similar to me, so that's the closest I have. But it's hard to stay in contact with her now that I'm back at work an she's SAHM.

Unfortunately, I only have my online soul mate. DH and I were just talking last night about how lonely we are here because we don't really have any friends like us. We don't know a single other person (irl) who practices EC, studies up on gentle parenting/AP, etc... Hopefully, when we move we'll find some new soul mates!

I wish I had an irl soul mama. How wonderful.
Online, I do notice I have a lot of things in common with you Mrs. Jacks. I won't go on with my list of what we just so happen to have in common b/c I don't want u to think I'm stalkerish. Plus some of the things you have influenced by your previous posts (diaper bag, cloth diapering, floor bed). But naturally, I'm outdoorsy and well traveled among other things I've noticed about our life choices as well as things that just happened to us with our DD.

@Boogs: We're not moving anytime soon. But in the next couple years we'll be looking to relocate since there are very few jobs available in my new profession!

@Mrs. Jacks: Your latest blog post reminded me...how we both have Dr. Brown bottles too. And my nearly full time sahd watching DD while I work. Definitely look us up for your annual trip!
