We just got a huge bill for LO's last checkup because the pediatrician scheduled it for the day before her birthday and we didn't realize that insurance would only cover it if she was actually 2 years old and not 1.99 years old. We will pay it if we have to but we are trying to see if insurance will give us a break. It will cost us something like 40x what we would have paid due to the one day difference.

Only once! It was for a Highlights magazine subscription. They sent the bill and a few days later I got a collections notice? I think the bill had to be lost in the mail or something because I never received a notice before that. Anyway, I paid and cancelled.

I stopped paying our insurance thinking it would effectively cancel it (or so I read) after we got employer insurance and after I kept getting bills, I called to formally cancel but they said I would have to make an appeal for the other months. I still haven't paid but I should probably do that appeal
Soon before they send us to collections!

I have paid the next month on utility bills sometimes.

Other than that, my car insurance billed me for a month of insurance that they shouldn't have because I cancelled the policy, but they didn't back date the cancellation like they should have. The worst is I didn't get the bill (because I had moved), no one called me....so it went to collections and they never called me either!! I figured it out when I pulled my credit report Took months, threats, swearing, taking the lords name in vain, etc. to get it straightened out and off my credit.

I missed my car payment and got a ding on my credit report because when we got married and I switched over to DH's account as our joint account, I changed the auto payment info. But I guess I incorrectly entered the routing number and never noticed and they didn't alert me until it was more than 30 days past due. That was annoying.

And I've gotten dental bills that I haven't paid because my BIL is my dentist and doesn't always care if I pay or not as long as he gets some money from my insurance company.

I recently got a bill for the tax on a car I sold seven years ago.
The bill was dated for 18 months after I sold it.
I finally got a notice from a law firm. Haven't dealt with it yet. I have tons of time to sit arguing on the phone with people in another country.

Yes. DH's former PCP charged us $30 on a no show. We were running late, stuck in traffic and called them numerous times to let them know. We were literally 10 minutes late and called while in the parking lot to tell them we were on our way up. They told us to not bother coming up because they were already running behind on appointments and the dr could not stay late. This was for a back problem that DH had for over a week and was in good amount of pain and they could not get him in until two weeks later. The most annoying part is it was because his dr refused to write him a referral to a chiropractor without seeing him.
When we got the $30 bill in the mail for a NO SHOW we called and told them we would not be paying it and will also be changing doctors.

I have not paid a few times. All have been medical billing errors. They took months to resolve, but I stood my ground each time since it wasn't our fault.

I cancelled a credit card after waiting forever to make sure I had no charges coming. Apparently I had auto renew every two years on a magazine linked to that card. I found out about it in the middle of our house hunt. One day I had a credit score of 780, the next week 625. For a $15 magazine subscription. Sucked so much because I had been working so long to have good credit to buy a house. Put the house hunt on hold and fixed it.
