I have never stayed at one before.
I was researching some hotels and saw a B&B available.

Last year, Hubs and I stayed at B&Bs in Nova Scotia and PEI. It was so cute and just like I imagined. Yummy breakfasts too.

We stayed at one on San Juan Island as a stopping point on our way to Victoria. We didn't leave daily tips, so now I'm wondering if we should have.

Never! Seems nice in theory, but I think we wouldn't like how cozy everyone would have to be with strangers?

We stayed in B&Bs all over Italy. Loved them! Also they were cheaper than big hotels, though a little more difficult to find and to book.

@bluestriped bee: Heh, I was like, thank goodness she didn't make our bed! Although, we did accidentally set off the smoke alarm with our fireplace...I'm sure trying to set fire to the place doesn't qualify as good etiquette, lol!

@bluestriped bee: Yes and no. It was a novelty, the rooms were prettier, breakfasts were delicious, and you meet other travellers. But, you are staying in someone's house, so I kinda felt like an intruder, and breakfasts are at a set time, so you can't sleep till noon. It's fun, but I wouldn't want to stay longer than a weekend.

We stayed at a b&b in a small town for our honeymoon & go back every year for our anniversary (we reserve the same suite). It's a tad different than most b&b though in that its not actually someone's "home" & there are multiple houses on the property with the main house being only for breakfast (the only meal they serve). We absolutely love it & I prefer it to the hustle & bustle of a large hotel.

Yes I have, but it was in Sweden and didn't exactly fit my image of a B&B. We also stayed at a Japanese B&B for a week. That was awesome!

Yes, in New Orleans. The place wasn't all that nice looking, but every morning fresh baked croissants were delivered at our door.

I love B&Bs! Although my preferred form of housing now is renting a home via vrbo or homeaway.

We did for our minimoon. It was so nice. I made sure to choose one that wasn't on the main drag of the town we were staying in, it had separate cabins for the different occupants, and breakfast was delivered in a picnic basket every morning piping hot.

I like them but I also prefer the privacy and solidarity of a hotel. We did stay at a little cottage last year, set up like a B&B but with breakfast brought to the cottage and no elbow rubbing with strangers. We stayed at a B&B in Seattle once and the owner was anti military and it was super awkward because DH was getting ready to deploy

DH and I stayed one night in one last summer. It was very nice and comfortable but I felt like I was staying at Grandma's house. I felt like I needed to be quiet and go to bed at a reasonable hour so we could be up and ready early enough for breakfast. I prefer hotels but I'm glad we tried it.

Came back to read the second link. The owner met us at the guest cottages. The owner helped big time with where to park. We ended up parking near a modern day brothel!
