I have not. Going to Disney is expensive enough but I'm hoping we save up enough to stay at one of the resorts in the future.
When we went last year, it was at a resort about 30 minutes from the park.

I have. DH and I went to Disney World with my dad and siblings in 2013 and stayed at a resort. It was a lot of fun and really convenient.

Aulani and Paradise Pier. I also 'partied' at a Grand Californian Suite.

We did last August. I was there for a work conference so it was more affordable!

Yes, we are huge disney fans. We stayed at Pop Century, Caribbean Beach and Conrado spring.
Since we visit the parks often we felt this was the best way of going. We did not have to rent a car since the hotel has free shutter service from the airport to the hotel and also parks.

@808love: haha, i've partied in a Grand Californian suite, too!
Never stayed in one, even though I worked in them as a concierge. I couldn't even afford to stay there with a Cast Member discount rate!

Yep, my parents are huge Disney fans so we went a lot as kids and now we have gone a few times as adults. We've stayed at the Polynesian, Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter, All Star Movies, All Star Music, Pop Century, Old Key West, and Animal Kingdom Lodge. Port Orleans French Quarter is my personal favorite. Though the Polynesian is amazing, it's too expensive.

We live in central FL, so we go often. They are stupid expensive, though, and I've yet to figure out how people afford to spend entire weeks there.
We've stayed at Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, and the Wilderness campsites. I love the Wilderness lodge, which is why we've stayed there the most often, though being on the monorail (Grand Floridian) is so convenient. We like the lodge, because it's typically quite a bit cheaper, but you don't have to take a bus because the ferry goes to the front of Magic Kindgom. Also, there is just so much going on at the Lodge, and it's easy to get to the campsites, which is a great place to kill a day at cheaply.

We have and will continue to stay on property with Disney! I love getting on the airplane and landing in Orlando, knowing I have nothing to worry about! I try not to look at it as expensive, but more nothing to worry about! We went for our honeymoon and stayed in the Music value resort. We loved it!
We are going next year and plan to stay on property again .

YES!! For us, the resort stay is half the experience. Including all the perks and plans you can get, it's definitely worth the cost. No one does anything like Disney...even hotels.

@MrsTal: We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside a couple of years ago. It was my favorite!

We are DVC members now, but pretty recently after realizing that it financially made sense for us, given how much we go to Disney and which resorts we stay at.
We bought at the Grand Floridian, which is by far our favorite. I have also stayed at the Polynesian, the Contemporary, the Beach Club Resort, and the Dolphin (this is a Disney affiliated hotel, but you can't purchase a meal plan here).
It is definitely worth it to stay at a Disney resort!
