Our pediatrician is moving to a new location next spring and we need to switch Drs. I am kinda bummed because we really like her!
Have you ever switched Drs. for your LO?

Yep, we're on our 4th practice. We moved, a doc retired, one practice had a bad managing partner, etc.

It is hard here because they rotate call with several other doctors, even if in solo practice. Most won't accept patients wanting to switch from docs they share call with.
We love our ped though so at least I don't have to worry about it!

I'm thinking of switching for my oldest. She has been asking for a girl doctor for some time now. There is a female doctor in the practice that I like a lot. I just don't know if I want to switch everyone.

Yes, we switched pediatricians when we moved states. I like our new ped a lot, but like the old practice's amenities better.

Yes. We switched after DS had rsv when he was 13 weeks old and his ped at the time did not manage it appropriately. He now has asthma because of it. He's had to have daily nebulizers for the past 9 months. Makes me feel so guilty and ragey that I didn't know enough to change sooner

My oldest is on his third Pediatrician. We switched due to insurance changes and moving. I still prefer his first doctor and wish we could've stuck with her!

We changed when we moved.
We are considering changing again due to limited availability at our current office. We had to take her to Children's Hospital ER twice because the doc said she needed to be seen ASAP but they didn't have room to fit her in at the office. I really didn't appreciate that.

We moved cities 3 times with our older LO, so we've switched at every move. Otherwise, we've stayed with the same doctor within a city.

Yes. I found a practice that was more in line with the way I think healthcare for children should be.

We had the same thing happened. I loved our family doctor, but he was a resident that finished his residency when DS was 9 months. He moved up to another clinic 30 minutes away.
We asked him if he had any recommendations at our current clinic and he gave us a couple. We went with his first rec since he was a first years resident and we'd have him for a bit before he too moved on.
Well, now that we've been with him for almost a year and through a couple sicknesses, he's a good doctor, but too timid for my tastes. I'm testing out another clinic doctor with this pregnancy and I like him a lot more.

Yes, we switched when my DD was maybe 6 months? Our original ped didn't seem to be up on continuing education (advised us to give water to our 4 day old??), pushed sleep training early, wasn't super supportive of breastfeeding. Our new ped keeps current on things, is very practical and down to earth. Glad we changed!
