Nope! DS is really good about following my directions. I never let him just walk though...I always wear dd, put him in cart or put them both in a cart, etc. so I can keep them contained.

I have not but I don't judge! I will probably have to use one on my little explorer at some point.

No and I imagine that she would flip the eff out if I even tried that lol she would probably still try to run away and then freak out when she couldnt. I've only been a mom of 2 for a short time but the grocery store is the worst with them both so I totally don't blame you!

She likes to run away from me, thinks it's hilarious. In the same weekend, she ran away from me in a parking lot when a car was coming, and in hobby lobby where I lost her after she turned a corner and was gone by the time I turned the corner...I ended up ditching my cart, purse, everything and running through the store screaming for her and for help finding her. After the hobby lobby incident, I got her to the car, sat in my seat and calmed my frayed nerves, then ordered a backpack leash on amazon from the parking lot.

I was pregnant and couldn't keep up with her- she's insanely fast! But it's not any easier now that I'm not pregnant bc I have a newborn in tow.

She actually loves it and asks to wear it. I put goodies in it for her. And she'll hand me the leash part when I snap it on and say "Here, Mama."

I haven't but I pretty much always put her in the stroller or cart if I can't be giving her my full attention. She just wanders too much. So far she's not a runner... Yet. And she's happy in the stroller. But I see the appeal.

I used to use one all the time, but haven't for a while. In England everyone seems to use them, there is no judgement at all. In Toronto I hear people bitch about them but was never given funny looks when I had DD on one. Even if someone judged me I wouldn't care. I have had my daughter run out of my sight three times, which I realise makes me sound like a terrible parent but she is super, super fast and I either had another kid with me and couldn't just tear off after her or was pregnant and slow. The feeling of losing sight of her was ten million times worse than any judgement any parent could give me. Harnesses can really keep kids safe.

Once or twice when the situation called for it. & I would totally use it again. He loves it though - it's a monkey and he loves putting it on and buckling it up himself. The tail just snaps off so he wears it like a backpack all the time. He's even gone to bed with it a few times.

Yes, I always use one. Its the norm over here in England.

I have one (a monkey backpack) and have never used it except once. We were traveling and it was the first time we were going to go through the airport without a stroller and we were going to Vegas so the hotel walk areas are just so crowded and crazy. Turned out we didn't need it bc she was happy to hold our hand but I wouldn't hesitate to use it if she wandered away.
I have seen other people use a scarf or plastic ring attached to their stroller or purse and the child just learns to hold onto it when walking with an adult. The rings are helpful bc you can detach and attach easily so you could put it on a shopping cart

Nope. The only place I can imagine myself using one is Disney World.

Yes. When LO was around 18 months she loved to run off so we used one when we were traveling around Japan so that we wouldn't lose her in the crowds, in a subway, or worse!

Haven't had a need for one yet at 22 months. He's not big into hand holding either unless he's stepping up/down a step.

I'm only 22 weeks pregnant now, so no experience as a parent, but I had one when I was little! I only remember because my parents divorced when I was two and my mom used the leash and my dad was horrified by it and never used one. This was the old school kind that had a rainbow wrist strap and a twisty red cord. I loved it! It gave me a little bit of freedom and independence so that I didn't have to be holding mom's hand all the time. And when I got older they became the handcuffs for games of cops and robbers. So I would definitely consider one if it would be useful for my kid. I see no problem with them, whatsoever!

I haven't (yet), but we have one and I won't hesitate to use it if I have to. We bought it mainly for travel. J HATES to hold my hand when walking, and loves to wander off every which way. One of my biggest fears with him is that he's going to get hit by a car. So judgment from others or a dead/injured son? Yea I'll take the former any day!

I have totally used one. Not all the time, but my son is a horrible runner so if I am alone with both kids and have to walk in a parking lot etc. I leash him.

Nope, never used one. But after becoming a mom, I totally get it and don't judge! Whatever works best for each parent/child!

we use one. my son takes off running everywhere. and it doesn't really bother me what others think. my son's safety is more important. plus there are so many cute ones out there!
