@Mrs. Pen: She had a confidentiality agreement that I remember signing but she would always say at the end of the session "Let's go ahead and call your mom in now" and then she'd vaguely mention stuff to my mom and then ask me to explain it to her. I didn't realize at the time that I could have just said "no." So I always felt like she tricked me into telling my mom because I thought I had to.
It's okay, I found another woman I loved and if I ever need to go again i'll try and contact her. She is exactly what a therapist should be

I saw one in middle school because I was a drama queen and liked to talk about myself.
I've never needed one as an adult. I'm pretty good at evaluating my own life and circumstances and applying appropriate solutions to them.

I've done both personal and marriage counseling. I was the kid that was bullied in school, so we did a fair amount of counseling when I was younger. My DH and I have been in marriage counseling for the last six months leading up to a visit to the MIL. We have some communication issues we're working on as well.
