My brother has been totally sidelined by the flu the past two weeks! Apparently the flu this season is horrible:

That stirred me out of my laziness and I just got a flu shot! They didn't have any preservative-free shots though, so Mrs. Bee couldn't get a shot (she's still bfing).

I haven't yet. The only time I had one while I was pregnant but I might get one this year too.

I did! Doctor's orders. Not sure if it was preservative-free or not.

I did not. After watching the nightly news last night, I decided I should. I did not think about the fact that I was still breastfeeding. I am glad I saw your post to know I need to find a preservative free shot.

@Thenetexan: Preservative-free shots are stocking out in a lot of pharmacies (at least in our neighborhood), so make sure to call ahead!

I never get the flu shot. I haven't gotten the flu for several years but this year is a bad one. I've already gotten the 24 hour flu twice now.

yes, the preservative free one. i didn't get the flu shot for many years but one year i came down with the flu and was absolutely miserable. it's no joke and 20x worse than a cold--i get the flu shot every year now.

I did and glad I did because my husband got the flu and was so sick for about 3 days. Luckily LO and I were perfectly fine while he was curled up in a ball upstairs!

I have never had a flu shot or the flu, but seeing all the news reports about how many people are getting the flu is making me nervous. I want my husband to have it because he's around kids all day.

@yoursilverlining: I was the same way-- I'd get it or not, depending on how easy it was, but didn't really care, then I actually GOT the flu and holy cow! It was awful. Now I make a point to.
I got it this year while TTC since I know the flu is extra bad for pregnant women. Reading the reports about how bad it is, I just suggested that DH go get it-- he never does but he better not be bringing the germs home to his pregnant wife this year!

My work covers the flu shot every year so I get it. Hubby didn't and he caught it on Monday. He feels like he's dying!
@mrbee: The flu shot takes 10 days before it becomes completely effective so stay away from people that currently have it, just in case!
