Super cool! I love simple mix and match pieces for LO so much more than outfits. I might have to get some!

I hadn't - but it looks cool! Thanks for sharing! I usually shop at American Apparel for cheap, sturdy basics but am glad to have another resource.

I'm clicking through the photos just giggling at their models. They are so adorable. And being kids. I love that. Plus, it's a "real" set. In the tangerine pj pic, there is snow on the tree. https://www.primary.com/shop/girls/the-pj-pant?color=tangerine&size=2

@Adira: that's what I was going to say.
I must be cheap but I don't find that a great price -- especially when I can get cuter stuff from Baby Gap or elsewhere on sale for about that price.
I like basics but at that price (for kids) I'd have to pass unless the quality was REALLY good.

@Adira: @coopsmama: I don't mind paying a little higher if I can get plain stuff. I hate how kids stuff has words, hearts, stars, etc over everything. Sometimes I just need plain tshirts to go with pattern bottom and they are so hard to find. Unless white, pink or black!
I need a plain red shirt for R. She got 3 different hand me downs that need a plain red shirt. I can't find one anywhere in the stores.

@Smurfette: I mean, if I really couldn't find something in a basic and I needed it, I'd be willing to pay extra, but Walmart usually has a good selection of basics. At least for boys. I have no idea what the girls section is like!

@Smurfette: That's a good point - it's nice if you have a specific basic in mind. At this point I've been able to find stuff for my kids that I like that is a good mix of plain and cute but we'll see as DD gets older. I think it might be a little easier for boys.

@Adira: Well I have found you get what you pay for at Walmart. The shirts/shorts I bought for her from there for day care last summer, did not hold up at all!
@coopsmama: I like a lot of basic stuff cause then she can wear with more. So I feel like I get more bang for my buck. I will probably order some plain ts and tanks for her for this summer.

What a brilliant idea! Hope the quality is good, that would retain me as a loyal customer for sure. I LOVE Tea Collection leggings and capris. The cotton is so soft.

@Smurfette: What a bummer! Xander has a ton of stuff from Walmart and hasn't had any issues with them. But maybe different brands have different qualities.
I know this is technically a boy's, but could this work? http://www.target.com/p/infant-toddler-boys-short-sleeve-tee/-/A-15582706#prodSlot=_1_2

@Adira: nope. I hate pockets on shirts. major pet peeve of mine
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
@Smurfette: @Adira: @coopsmama: I can't say if they're good or bad quality but here's my take:
I read their "story" and it made sense to me about why they would start their company. They're obviously not as big as Gap or Old Navy (or Walmart) and that's probably why they seem "pricey". I totally agree, their prices may be a few dollars more than your standard but these quotes from their site are so true, "Why do we have to wait for a 40% off sale to pay a reasonable price" and "why is a simple white tee shirt out of stock?"
Sometimes it's nice to know you have a place you can go to that has something good quality that you've bought before and you know will be there in the future. I'm not saying I've tried their clothes, I haven't, but I'd like to to see quality. It seems like that is what they are trying to accomplish, which is pretty cool. I also like that it was started by 2 moms looking for just what they are selling. Basics.
I have a hard time finding basics. I'm definitely keeping an eye on this company and would love to hear feedback from anyone who does buy from them!

I"m lucky in that my mom works as a seamstress for a company that works mainly with police and fire departments. They screen print a lot of shirts, sweatshirts, etc. so she can usually get me the basics for cheap or free Otherwise, I would be all over this. It's so frustrating to not be able to find . . . the basics!

thanks so much for sharing!! I like the idea.
so far we just have 2 boys -- I'm not super in love with the boys selection (although the hoodies are my favourite from what I see), but oh man if #3 is a girl i'm LOVING the basic dresses in the girls section!

@mediagirl: Love this, thank you for sharing! I have found basics at Old Navy but I don't like the quality at all. I'll have to try them
Out!

I just placed an order for some pants and onesies, I'll update on quality when they come in!

i actually always wanted a store just like this, but i would sell basics + timeless pieces like striped shirts that are always hard to find. i love the name and idea behind this!

@mediagirl: in case you were still interested, I got my first order from Primary today and holy heck are they soft! I ordered a few items in mint for our Team Green baby so I can't say that anyone has worn them yet but they seem to be of pretty excellent quality! I keep touching them because I can't believe how silky soft they feel
I was randomly offered 25% off and free shipping as I was browsing online and grabbed 2 onesies and a sleeper for about $25.

@mrschickpea: Thanks for the review! I never did order anything from them but will give them a try. Also, I can't believe this thread was started a year ago, time goes by so fast these days. It's always fun to read what I wrote a year ago.

@Kimberlybee: no problem! I'm already wanting to order some for my brand new niece so I can buy pink

@mediagirl: Aw I commented on this a year ago when I was newly pregnant and now I've actually ordered some onesies for DS from Primary! They came last week and are super soft. Like PP I randomly found a discount code. Will definitely shop here in the future!

I looked at their website a few weeks ago and love the idea, but they seems to be out of stock of a lot of things I'm interested in. Ex - the "dress" is out of stock (in all 10 colors) in sizes 3, 4-5, 6-7, and 8-9.
clementine / 928 posts
@Bluebonnet: they restock pretty frequently! The mint I ordered has been out of stock a few times but always comes back within the week. I do see that the dress is popular! Hopefully that comes back in stock soon!
