Come to think of it, I don't think I have! Wow. I've seen him really sad, but never cry. He didn't cry when we heard his grandmother died, and he didn't cry at the funeral. A few days later he DID cry, and told me about it, but I was at work when he broke down.

He seen and heard me cry a LOT though. I'm a regular wuss, and pregnancy hormones just make it worse.

I've seen him get misty-eyed a few times, but haven't seen him actually break down and ugly cry.

Now. Him seeing me break down? Ha, I've lost count.

I haven't seen him break down and full on cry, but I've seen him tear up a couple of times maybe a few drops come from his eyes. The first time was during the mother son dance at our wedding. The second time was at church when we were getting a prayer and I was having a hard time telling the pastor about my miscarriage. I think it's super sweet when he tears up. Men shouldn't be afraid to cry.

I have seen DH cry twice... the first time was when our daughter was born and the second was when we were going through a really rough patch... It was the most heartbreaking thing I have ever seen in my life.

@MrBee- He is pretty awesome! I'm constantly astounded that he made it through a really rough stretch of time where they all died without losing his mind. It was before we met and makes me so sad that he had to go through it alone.

I totally agree that the 2 aren't mutually exclusive! Different people express things differently. I think as long as people have a method that works for them, then that's awesome. He also uses humor and sarcasm to deal with it!

No, never seen my husband cry although I can easily see him crying if something were to ever happen to his grandparents, parents, or myself. He has seen me cry many, many times. We were dating when my grandpa was diagnosed with cancer and then subsequently died. I was an absolute wreck. I could tell it was hard for him to watch me cry in those instances. When I cry out of stress or frustration it has less of an impact on him. He still cares, it just doesn't deeply effect him like the other times.

Yes! I have. During our wedding weekend he totally put on the waterworks a couple of times. It was so emotional having all of our family and friends in one place. He didn't cry during the ceremony though, and he made it through his vows just fine. I wonder if he'll cry when the baby is born...

I've seen my husband shed a couple of tears, but I've never seen him break down. Luckily for him, he's not (to this point) had any truly heartrending events in his life. No deaths of family members, at least to whom he was close, or anything like that. Unlike me, as I've had five deaths in my family in the past eight years. Plus the death of my dog.

My husband is not afraid of his emotions. He got choked up and cried a bit at our ceremony when saying our vows. (In the process, he got our officiant started and then I'm standing there telling both of them, "It's ok, it's ok, this is what we're saying next...)

I love that he cries at sad animal commercials like the SPCA commercials. He is a huge animal lover and seeing any animal in pain or in danger makes him so sad.

He cried when he found out one of his best friends (he had two) had a brain tumor. He cried again (good tears) when it sounded like he was going to be ok. Then he cried one last time when his friend didn't make it. It was heartbreaking.

@mrbee: So sorry to hear about your sad time with Sparky passing. I haven't wanted to have a pet partly b/c I don't want to experience the grief of such a loss.

My SO cried a lot at our wedding. So much that I had to hand him my Kleenex. So lots of tears of joy. Oh, and we had a m/c after just a few days of pregnancy... that was really hard on both of us.

I have seen him cry a few times. The biggest time was when some old memories were brought up of the Kosovo refugee crises he experienced as a child and some of the deaths and other things he saw.

He's also cried a couple times after fights when he didn't realize how hurtful his words were and he was sorry for hurting me.

I cry all the time though...

I've seen my husband cry when his children where wrongly taken from him and he didn't get to see them for 8 months. Throughout those 8 months I saw him cry a few times. Otherwise, he's not a crier.

I've seen my DH cry when he proposed, when I walked down the aisle, while he was dancing with his mom, during a couple of our fights. Most recently I saw him cry at his grandfather's funeral while his mother was speaking. He is very in touch with his emotions, more so than I am most times. I think it has a lot to do with him being raised by two women. Crying does not make him feel weak. When we first started dating I thought him being emotional was annoying, but it is something that I have grown to love and appreciate about him.

My FI constantly tells me about how he doesn't cry and isn't outwardly emotional. He tells me he wont cry at the wedding and he wont cry at the birth of our children.. but a few months back when our hedgehog died, he broke down and sobbed.. I held him tight and we cried together.

My DH does not cry often at all, but I have seen him cry before. It has to be something really upsetting to get him to cry.

DH cried when our LO was born and he teared up one day when our first dance song was playing on the radio. He is quite open emotionally but not a big crier. Good thing because I am!

I'm shocked with how many haven't seen their DH cry. Mine is a big time crier - ha! These days my daughter just has to look at him cutely and he's done.
