during their liquidation sale? Any good deals? The Toys R' Us by me is only 10% off this week. Waiting for a bigger sale!

I have, it was only 10% off, but I had $55.00 on gift cards. I'm tempted to go again in a few weeks.

Dh stopped in to get a birthday present and both items he bought were excluded from the liquidation sale- a water table and lego set.

Don’t wait if you have gift cards! I’d use those things ASAP. The stores around me went to liquidation and literally they were cleared out in 72 hours. Bankruptcy is a pretty chaotic process...use this gift cards now. Even if tru says you have until April 21st, nothing is guaranteed.

Someone mentioned that a lot of their big name brand items are on consignment, ie they’ll go back to the manufacturer. So those may never go on great sale

We went in to use up some gift cards before the liquidation even went into effect and they were already starting to look picked over.

Following! We need some stuff they have, but not sure about the best time to shop. It does sound like it's going to be another month at least.

Some brands state in their merchant contracts that they cannot be discounted without manufacturer permission, or cannot be discounted more than a certain percent. So, yes, some brands are never going to be a deal.
We went ahead and used our gift cards.

I used my gift cards when they announced they were definitely closing, but I shopped online since it’s kind of far from me and I figured they would likely be picked over anyway. Even online a lot of stuff was sold out. Plus some stuff was screwy with shipping but apparently it’s all on its way now. I wouldn’t wait for a deal to use gift cards.

We stocked up on stuff for summer birthdays, got up to 30% off at our store.

Most of the stores around us were part of the original closing list so they are up to 70% off BUT they were so picked over so quickly that there isn't much left. And like others said certain brands never dropped more than 20% off, so not worth it.
I did grab a bunch of birthday cards and gift bags at 60% off and DH got a video game - we had a gift card to use up.

I went the day after they announced the closures to use a gift card & liquidation hadn't yet started, but expected them to be picked over quickly once that started. They said use your gift cards asap, even though they give you until the 21st.

My local store was in the 1st round of closures and was up to like 40-50% the last time I went, but like half of the Lego's weren't included in the sales. I went to another store on Monday and they were up to 30% off, but Lego's were included for 5% off. Got my nephew & DS a few things for their birthdays.

Our local stores are only up to 10% off right now, so not too exciting. I did get a few things that were "toys r us" exclusives, or hard to find items, that I knew were on the kids wish lists.
Yesterday however, I happened to pass by one of the other local stores (a babies r us) that was closing from the first round of closures. They had up to 70% off! There was barely any gear left, and almost all toys, but man did I clean up. I ended up getting $700 of toys for $125. Should put a big dent in Christmas this year!

I went yesterday and most everything was only 10% off. It didn't really look that picked over yet. Guess I'll try again next week if they are still open.

Our Babies R Us is due to close this weekend so they're really clearing out. I got a couple of cute toys but nothing crazy.

I went to Babies R Us last weekend and they were only doing 10% off, which made a lot of things more expensive than usual due to frequent sales. I did a little better at Toys R Us, a lot of summer things that just came in were 20 - 30% off so I picked up some basics like bubbles and chalk for a good price. I got some Star Wars things for my nerdy DH, too

I did because I had JUST received a BRU gift card a week prior to the news breaking. And I was afraid of losing it.
No good deals when I used it, but I also mostly used it to stock up on necessities (formula and diapers for my newborn) which didn’t seem to have many good deals at the time.

When you call the one closest to us, they say everything is "up to 40% off" but a friend just went and said most stuff is still just 10% off. I kind of think they worded it like that to trick people.

I ran in for something small today and the "deals" were so poor. Everything was marked way up and almost everything was only 10% off. I saw clothes were 20% off but it was off the full Carter's price which usually you can find at least 40-50% off. And the Paw Patrol Sea Patroller was 10% off $60 where it's only $45 usually. So not worth it unless you need to use gift cards.

@skipra: Was your store pure chaos with people looking for bargains? I was considering going this weekend not for the supposed deals, but because I need something. DD3 has become OBSESSED with DD2's favorite baby doll, and DD2 is not being at all accommodating - I'd like to get my hands on another STAT, but don't want to brave the masses with three kids in tow
I also kind of want to buy some Journey Girls accessories I'd had my eye on to distribute to my girls over the next few years.

@PinkElephant: We were there right when it opened and there were several people waiting for them to open but not a huge crowd. We were only there a few minutes so no line at checkout.
