I'm an occupational therapist and work in home with babies 0-3, so I'm around babies pretty frequently!

I was part of the *cuddle corps* . . . we had a lot of families who could not stay at the hospital for the weeks/ months during which their baby was in the NICU. So, to provide more human contact for the LOs, volunteers were assigned to babies to feed them at specific times during certain days. It was awesome. And sometimes heartbreaking, but mostly it was awesome.

I've worked primarily with preschool-aged kids (ages 2.5-5), but I've worked in an infant daycare class for a short amount of time. The ratio was 1:5 I think. At one point I had twin 2 month olds, a 6 month old, and two 10 month olds BY MYSELF. That was a blast.
It was before we started TTC and it cured baby fever for a little while haha

As a hospitalist, I don't go to deliveries any more, but as a general pediatrician you do all the time... still I take care of lots of young babies and children.

I'm a student doula/childbirth educator, and someday hope to become a midwife. So yes! Love being around the babies (and the mamas!)
