So my trusty moms are giving me differing opinions.
When flying with a LO. Headphones or no for iPad usage?
I'm not planning on blaring the noise level nor am I sure my LO will use headphones.
If you say yes to headphones, reco one?

I would say bring them and try them. I know it would be a pain to store, but you never know if LO will take them or not. Worst is you bring them and end up not using them?

Definitely headphones. My iPhone 5 earbuds fit in DS's ears pretty well. DH has big noise canceling headphones that can be adjusted to DS's head.

We've never used headphones on an airplane but we also turn the volume way down. My son has only played games on the iPad while flying though...I would maybe try headphones if he was watching a movie.

I would get some headphones (I think winniebee got some noise cancelling ones for her son at one point) and try them at home first.
I am in camp "Please use headphones or turn the volume down in a public place or I will give you the look." I would rather a kid scream than hear the tinny sounds of music or voices coming from a tablet or laptop. But I've just been on too many airplanes, listening to kids shows I really had no interest in listening to...

As someone who was recently subjected to a several-hour plane ride with really annoying noises coming from a kid's iPad...I'm definitely in the headphones camp The dad may have thought the sound was "low" but if there is any sound at all coming out of a device, other people can hear given how cramped planes are these days.

If you are going to get headphones, start practicing with them early. My DD wanted nothing to do with them at that age!

if someone near me on a plane was using a device without headphones, it would be a major problem. sometimes kids cry and scream on planes, and there's nothing you can do about it, and that's a situation where other passengers end up just needing to deal. but there's no reason people should have to listen to someone else's device when headphones exist.

I would get headphones, even if you keep the volume low, sometimes it's not low enough and can disturb others.

I definitely appreciate when people around me use headphones while I'm on a plane.

Any headphones will do!
I would bring several pairs actually... Charlie chewed through the cord of one set of headphones on one international flight, and we didn't have a backup... what a nightmare!!

Our kids both have headphones but my son used to watch the screen with no sound when he was younger. He seemed to be fine with that.
