Diaper changes are ravaging my hands. Please recommend your best heavy duty hand cream!! I've been sleeping with coconut oil slathered on and socks over them but its still lizard city.

I *JUST* went and bought L'Occitane's shea butter hand cream. It's soooo rich and absorbs well with no oily feeling. LOVE IT.

This stuff:
ETA: It's less than $5, I think, at any drug store, Target, Walmart... I use it before bed and the whole bottle lasts my well beyond winter!

My DH gets really dried and cracked hands and his favorite is this one - http://www.goldbondultimate.com/healing-lotion.html.

@LindsayInNY: I second this recommendation, I just couldn't remember the name! The teeniest, tiniest bit goes a really long way!

Here's another good one but pricier (clearly I have hand cream issues!):

I echo @LindsayInNY and @cmomma17! I buy it every winter, it's the best!

I like Yes to Carrots hand cream.
ETA: I work in a hospital and am in and out of patient rooms, using the alcohol hand sanitizer each time I walk into and walk out of each room. The Yes 2 Carrots actually protects my skin all day long and repairs it overnight. And it's 98% natural.

I'm a fan of The Body Shop's Hemp Hand Protector. Non greasy and super moisturizing.

It's the "old farmer" method, but slather up with Bag Balm at night! It doesn't smell great but it will help SO MUCH!

I really like the Neutrogena hand cream too, though I buy the unscented version.

When DD was still in diapers, I'd sometimes use Gold Bond antibacterial hand lotion instead of washing my hands. That kept my hands from getting dried out in the first place.

I use this morning and night, it's really thick but it does the trick for eczema ravaged hands.
It's about $12 for a tub (that lasts forever and then some!! Go to http://www.eucerinus.com/products/soothe/eucerin-original-healing-soothing-repair-creme.html and you can print a $1 off coupon

Melaleuca Renew Intensive Skin Therapy. Pricey, but worth every cent, and the bottle I have has lasted me forever.

An ex-coworker of mine kept this one in her desk. It worked so well during the winter! Another ex-coworker had the Crabtree and Evelyn gardeners lotion and it was also awesome in the winter.

@bpcmarj: Crabtree & Evelyn Gardner lotion was going to be my suggestion! It's great!

Another vote for L'Occitane hand cream. I
that cream. I have a big tube by my bed and a travel sized one in all my purses and my car.
I've also put just regular Vaseline on my hands at night and then slept with gloves on. It worked when my hands were super dry, the cracked and bled.

Aveda Hand Relief! It's sooooo good! I have one by my bed and one in my purse!

I wouldn't consider this heavy duty, but it is a miracle! It's silky, absorbs quickly, and smells heavenly. I don't like thick or sticky hand creams, so this is perfect.
