Weโ€™re adding support for iPhone and Android emoji to the boards! So if you have an emoji keyboard installed, then you can add emoji into your posts. A quick example of how it works:

๐Ÿถ goes woof, ๐Ÿฑ goes meow. ๐Ÿฆ goes tweet, and ๐Ÿญ goes squeak.
๐Ÿฎ goes moo. ๐Ÿธ goes croak, and the ๐Ÿ˜ goes toot.
๐Ÿค say quack and ๐Ÿ  go blub, and the ๐Ÿ‹ goes ow ow ow.
But there's one sound that no one knows...
What does the ๐Ÿบ say?

A few notes:

* We are using the open source emoji from Emoji One. (Apple's emoji are not open-source, alas!!) So the emoji that appear may be slightly different than what youโ€™re used to on your iPhone or Android device (for example, the fox/wolf emoji above).

* Youโ€™ll be able to see any emoji added while youโ€™re browsing from the web (Firefox, Safari, Chrome, IE, etc.).

* Emoji One doesnโ€™t support all of the new emoji that Apple added (additional skin tones, new flags, etc.) - so not every emoji will render, unfortunately. We hope to update with the new emojis by the end of the year (technical translation: when the new Unicode 8 standard is finalized).

* For now, you will only be able to add emoji from a mobile device that supports emoji keyboardsโ€ฆ but over time, we are going to look into making that easier for people. Details to come.

* Oana's painted smileys still work just like they always have! These new emoji are in addition to the old ones.

If youโ€™re on a tablet or smartphone, drop an emoji and let us know if it works for you!
