Looking for some advice on our newest challenge. LO has started to get very upset in two situations: when we attempt to place him in his carseat and also in his high chair. He arches his back, screams, and tries to twist onto his stomach/stand up every time. Occasionally, we can distract him for long enough with a song or a toy, but both activities are becoming really difficult.

I am wondering if something about sitting down that is hurting him (which I don't think is the case, but of course my fear!) or if he is just fighting being constrained for a few moments? It breaks my heart to see him get so worked up and I thought I would run it by you ladies in case you've been through this at all and have any suggestions!

Side note: He is very strong I have some difficulties doing both on my own. I am really hesitant about "forcing" him into the carseat or the high chair and don't want to scare him, but at the same time, I don't want to get into a routine of "negotiations."

Any similar experiences/solutions?
