I took M (18m) to the childcare at my gym for the first time today. We signed in and I found a toy for him and he was happily playing with a stroller when I left. The staff came to get me 20 minutes later saying he wouldn't stop crying. That's an understatement. He was hysterical. I think that one other kid's mom came to get her, it wasn't me, he remembered I was gone and he melted down. I calmed him down and then after getting my stuff from the locker room together we played for 10 minutes in the center. He was happy to play with their toys then!

Going to the gym together is something I really wanted to do now that I'm not working. I'm feeling pretty defeated. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can get him to be happier there?
