My ILs gave us this old patio table for our deck, and I hate the color (it also needs a good scrubbing...). I'm planning on painting it but can't decide on a color. I think black or white would be the smartest choice but I'm also tempted by red or plum.
What color would you paint this table?

I voted black, but now I think about it I might be tempted to do a dark green. Do you have any other garden furniture to go with it?

I think black would get really hot. Red might be a little aggressive but I think a dark purple would look great!

I would paint it yellow because I'm insane, but I think purple is my favorite of your options. I love purple! Plus, I'm with @MamaMoose... black would get really hot in the summer!

Hmm I hadn't considered how hot black might get in the summer, and I think it would definitely be an issue, especially in the afternoons, since our deck faces west. I think I'm leaning towards purple, but hadn't thought about yellow...hmm...

I think plum would be awesome and pop! Black and white would be the most classic though.

Since it's outside I think a bright fun color like teal would be gorgeous!

I like the plum option. I wouldn't have normally thought of that color, but I just got this catalog the other day and saw this plantation chair in plum, and immediately wanted it for the back porch. I never use purple, so I say go for it.

I would definitely paint it a bright bold color. Teal sounds so pretty. I would paint it teal and add white chairs with some pretty pillows (maybe coral and yellow?).

@Mrs. Pen: @Mrs. Pen: Oooo I hadn't thought about teal or turquoise, either! My favorite color! (Clearly I need more coffee today!) I think E and I will take a stroll up to the hardware store later and see what they have.

I would do black, so that you can punch it up with fun accessories! Like the umbrella, pillows on chairs, placemats, dishes, etc... I think choosing a super punchy color for the table could be really cool, but I think it would really limit the way you accessorize it.

The plum or the teal sounds awesome. I think a red might clash with the bricks, white gets dirty fast and black is hot.
