Is the second one NOT machine washable? That would be a deal breaker. It only takes getting car sick once...

I would go with whichever is easier to install and fits front to back in the car. If those are equal and both are washable I would prob do re second so you can rf as long as you want.

The more leg room for me was a biggie I voted for #2! Assuming you have AC in your car I don't think the fabric will matter that much in the long run.

New carseat recommendations are that you have your LO rear face until they are 2 or longer if they still meet height and weight requirements. I would definitely get a seat where they can rear-face as long as humanly possible, especially since the price difference is only $20.

Extended RF is important to me, so the higher weight limit of the second one is what i would get.

@simplyfelicity: Finding a lighter color might help more than the type of fabric then I would imagine the black would be hotter when you first get in the car
