I think I'm out of inspiration! Please help me find a coming home outfit for a baby boy due in June...most likely on the smaller side. I'm not sure if you're supposed to put them in a sleeper or two piece outfit for this? But if I don't find anything the backup will be a Carters sleeper...

I am looking for a romper like outfit but my criteria includes baby blue color, no stripes and no animals. Looking for classic but bit baptism.

@spaniellove: yes I like their stuff but each piece there is something holding me back.
Like this one that I would prefer for it to be pants even in the summer so the car seat doesn't rub the legs.

@T.H.O.U.: After taking a quick look, I realized that nothing has feet right now, or even legs like you said. Ralph Lauren is a bit pricier, although on sale it might be a decent bet.

E came home in a two piece outfit--a kimono shirt with tiny animals on it and matching pants. And a hat. I think it was Carter's. It wasn't like...special occasion nice, or anything, we just wanted it to be easy to put on and comfy for the ride home. It was long-sleeved, even though it was August, because the car was chilly from the AC.

@lovehoneybee: Did you find that it left their belly to rub against things at all? Sometimes I hear you're supposed to do a shirt, sometimes I hear you're not supposed to because of the rubbing, and it's confusing.

@spaniellove: I'm wondering what July boy should wear!! I'm so confused about how many layers a newborn needs in July in the south!! Do I need long sleeve, footed, socks, had, etc?? Lol

@spaniellove: Hmm. I don't remember....it wasn't very tight on him, and if it bothered him he didn't show it--he fell asleep in the car seat before we even left the hospital room and he slept all of the way home! He definitely seemed comfortable!

@runnerd: yes. Even in the summer in the south we did long pants and long sleeves with feet and head covered. Like others said the hospital is cold, the car is cold, and the house is cold. They don't spend much time actually outside.

@spaniellove: that is cute RL. I am ok without feet on the outfit because I can get a good pair of newborn socks that hopefully would stay on.

@spaniellove: I would avoid a 2-piece outfit because the pants will likely hit where his bellybutton is, and with the stump still there it might be uncomfortable for him. I also wanted to avoid anything that had to go over her head because it's so floppy and fragile when they're a newborn. I really like this simple onesie from BG.

Get the ralph lauren stuff, they often have at least 25% off on sales, I have so much from when my boy was little and it was seriously the best clothing he had!
Or Janie and Jack. Love their newborn layette stuff.

@spaniellove: their stuff is generally running small, so if you get something from the newborn Layette, in 3 months, it will fit a newborn of about 7 pounds. You might have some room, but it's not RIDICULOUSLY large looking!
