Not a specific suggestion, but I would recommend using Amazon Prime Wardrobe. They will send you up to eight items, and you only have to pay for what you keep. The box they send them in is also set up for returns.

I was in a similar situation (only the color was gold, so easier to coordinate), and ordered a bunch of dresses from several stores. I ended up keeping a dress from Nordstrom Rack, but I also ended up getting banned from ordering online from there due to excessive returns. I have a hard time telling what will be flattering before trying it on, and a lot of the dresses that were relatively flattering were either too old or too young.

@Foodnerd81: you can requestit in more than one size and it would come a couple days beforehand

@HappyBaker: that gray one is really pretty! I don’t think it’s too close to white. I wore a similar colored dress to a few weddings and never felt like it was too light. But I suppose it being next to all the dark purple bridesmaids might make you feel even lighter. I also had good luck ordering from bloomingdales (free shipping and returns if you join their rewards thing for free, I think).

I would definitely check out Nordstrom's website. They have a whole section of their website devoted to wedding guest attire. They have a great return policy so you can order a bunch and return what you don't end up keeping. Also, if you go in to a store their sales people are fantastic at helping you find the perfect dress.

I recently went to Nordstrom to find a dress for my SIL's wedding and I told them what I was looking for (hide my tummy since I recently had a baby, thicker straps since I need to wear a good bra, fits with the color scheme, and fits my enormous nursing bustline haha)

I think navy would be a great color. Dark colors are more flattering to hide a tummy and navy would go well with purple.
