I'm clueless about cameras, I do know that my husband does not want a dslr. Do you have any reasonably priced recommendations?

Thanks so much, I'll take a look at those. I was instructed to pick out a camera that isn't a DSLR for my birthday. Something smallish, that takes great pictures.

@StbHisMrs: I second the recommendation for the Canon S series. Not all Canons are equal. The S series has a great lens and sensor (this means it will produce great picture quality). I have the S95 in my purse all the time and that is what I use when I don't have my DSLR. When you get your camera, make sure you set the image settings to take Large sized photos. My MIL had her camera taking Small ones because she was trying to cram more on the card... they are totally unsuitable for printing.
