Hi all - I'm having a girl in early June! I have a few names that I love and I can't seem to decide between. Please vote for your favorite and let me know any thoughts you have on the names. Thank you!

My vote's for Eleanor but I'm biased because Eleanor Grace was on my short, short list when I went into labor (but I ended up having a boy).

I love Eleanor but it lost out to Josephine for me because it has been getting more popular and Josephine sounds a little more original
I'd call her Josie.
All excellent choices though!

Felicity is my favorite!! If you named her Eleanor or Josephine would there be a nickname, or would you only call her by her full name?

thanks all! So helpful! My husband wants to keep our names secret but I need to bounce my ideas off someone! And I love the full names of Eleanor and Josephine but I would be okay with Jo/Josie and Elle/Nora as nicknames.

I love all of those!! I voted Josephine but I think they are all great names!

Love Felicity and Eleanor, but I think Eleanor is getting more and more popular.

Eleanor. I like Felicity too, but it's my SIL's name so I tend to associate it with her rather than a baby.

Felicity was on my list of girl names so that's my vote! Though Eleanor was too so that's my second vote.

Felicity is my all time favorite, but DH has said no, so I encourage others to use it.
I also love Josephine and we actually named our dog that! We call her Josie. I sort of wish we had saved that name for a human member of our family b/c I've come to love it a whole bunch, too.

I voted for Felicity because I love the name, but could not use it myself. I also really love Josephine

I like both Felicity and Josephine but voted for Felicity, its on my current short list if we have another baby.

I pick Josephine bc it's so cute and I haven't heard that name much at all!!

I voted for Felicity - I haven't thought of that name in sooo long (which I always think is a good sign, means it's not overused), but I absolutely love it!

I love that 3 of these names are American Doll names! (Well josefina and Josephine are close!) It would be so much fun to get LO a namesake doll and the book series!

Eleanor or Felicity!
Honestly, my daughter has one of the currently getting more popular classic girl names. I was all frazzled about it before because of it being "too popular" but honestly... I love the name. It fits her and I don't regret it. Just pick what you love!

@LemonLong: I was starting to think I was the only one who noticed that!!
I voted for Josephine, I love that name!

I'm the minority and voted Samantha. Eleanor sounds a lil old to me. Josephine, not crazy about, although I do like Josie. And felicity, just think about the show.

Samantha...this name evokes classic, feminine, sophistication. All the real life Samanthas I know also have a great sense of style.

Samantha is my all-time favorite name. I named my first cat Samanatha. Unfortunately I didn't have a girl and my last name starts with Ma so it's sounds funny. : ( (Sam, Sammy...all good nicknames!)

I love Felicity, it is classic but unique. They are all great, but I think this is the most originial!

Congrats on the girl!
My question would be this--do you like all these names' nicknames? All your names seem very similar (in a good way) -- classic, traditional, 3 or 4 syllables, strong sounding but feminine. However, I could see some winning out over others based on your nickname preferences. If there are some with nicknames you really dislike, I'd rule them out (you have so many good choices). And I wouldn't worry too much about popularity because all of the names you've chosen are fairly classic. Eleanor hasn't cracked the top 100 and Josephine hasn't cracked 150. Felicity is still dreaming of the top 500. Samantha is the highest ranking one, as she's in the top 50.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: you totally just described me!
I voted for Samantha because that's my name and I love it. Sam is actually one of my favourite boy names. But really, I like Felicity the best of the 4 you listed and I think Eleanor is getting too popular!

I had my girl last June!
I really like Felicity in your poll, just lovely! It's timeless and has an airy "on cloud 9" feel for me.
