I'd go for a nice grey- whatever you want. I live on the rocks by SW.

I love accent colors! My living room is Palladian Blue with a Rural Earth accent wall (both Benjamin Moore BUT I get them color-matched at SW because I like the paint better). Replacing that chandelier with something more modern/farmhouse will go a long way toward changing the look of the rooms. Also, it looks like there aren't window casings all the way around the windows? You could do a simple casing in a farmhouse style too as money/time allow.

We love gray ... we just did "Filtered Shade" by Valspar (Lowes), and LOVE it.

I don't think gray/muddy blue is going to go well against the ivory (at least that's what it reads to me over my monitor). I would page gingerbebe, she has a blue accent color in her house, I would be willing to bet it might work....

It seems like that ivory is very warm toned, and you'd need to keep the accent wall in the same color family, or possibly just paint it the same ivory? That might be easier on your eyes.

@T.H.O.U.: I would just paint it that color, I know you don't love it, but it would be a lot easier.

Also on the chandelier, can you remove the glass shades and replace the bulbs with the ones that look like flames?

@T.H.O.U.: ALSO! What about swapping out the shades on the chandelier for something more farmhousey like seeded glass? That would go a long way toward changing the look, or you could even spray paint it ORB.

What is your plan for painting? I would hate to paint the accent wall a color that goes with the beige and then have to paint again when you paint the beige. Could you just paint a section a month? That way it doesn't cost a ton all at once, but you slowly get it to the colors that you want.

Im a big fan of edgecomb gray. But also like revere pewter and agreeable gray

We have Knoxville Gray as an accent color and I looooove it. It's a dark greeny blue color. Looks really nice against our beige color curtains and couch.

ETA I just saw you don't want green. Our rug has some rust colors and still looks nice with the wall color

@T.H.O.U.: your new home is lovely! I miss FL homes. If the front room is going to be a playroom I'd just go with a light, but fun color in that room like @Avicoca: palladium blue. Then, paint the dinning room BM Swiss Coffee. It's a creamy white that reminds me of Fixer Upper when they do warmer tones instead of Greige.

@T.H.O.U.: edgecomb really is neutral. I have it in rooms that get a lot of light and zero light and it always looks good. We have warm floors and white trim and it looks great. I'd say it runs more warm than cold though, it will never look green or blue. I think it is the perfect Greige. I put it and a few others you've mentioned up on big pieces of white poster board. It was amazing to see them in huge swatches and really helpful. Greys tha tlooked great on the chip looked awful in some rooms. Good luck and congrats!

@T.H.O.U.: FWIW, our Sherwin Williams advised against getting color samples from Lowes/Home Depot. She said when they try to color match in their small samples they can't get the accurate color. Something about breaking the color ratio down that small. Sherwin Williams samples are a little more expensive ($5 I think) and larger, quart. If your painter uses Sherwin Williams you can buy with your painters discount and get them for about $3.

I just used BM Revere Pewter in my dining and living rooms and I LOVE it. It looks beautiful day and night, and is quite neutral.
