Alright. So, my son will be 4 months old next week. He has been able to roll from back to belly for a few weeks now. He's been sleeping great swaddled in the RnP, with usually one brief waking around 4am to eat and straight back to sleep for another 2-3 hours. He's a crappy napper but that's semi manageable.
Tonight is night 4 of the crib. First two nights we tried the Merlin suit and it did not go well. I figured that was maybe too much change for him so last night I swaddled him. He did much better, although there was a screaming (and I mean screaming) fit around 12:15. My husband was able to coax him back to sleep (no nursing!) and he woke again around 5:30. But he had managed to flip to his belly. I didn't think he could roll without the use of his arms. My husband said he looked comfortable and had his head turned to the side.
I don't know what to do. I don't feel like he is ready to sleep without the swaddle but if he is rolling over I'm not "supposed" to swaddle him, right? He's back in the Merlin suit tonight. His days have been rough because he's so overtired. His voice is hoarse from screaming. It's horrible for everyone involved and I feel so bad. What do I do?
