Mind blown!!! I have never considered not entering and exiting next to the shower head where all the action is.

Depends on what is next to the tub. At home, the back. At my parents, the front. Toilet is next to the tub in both bathrooms. I always turn on the water and get it comfortable prior to getting in. I also always wash my hair.

Our shower has a door, but for showers in a tub, with a curtain, I've always gotten in from the back/ farthest away from the shower head, but gotten out from the reverse side/ closest to the shower head!

Back! For several reasons. Technically that's the only real option in the apartment we're in now because the toilet is next to the tub at the front where the shower head is, so to get in that way I'd have to go around the toilet. But even when I'm in bathrooms that aren't set up that way, I go in the back in case the water temperature isn't quite right - I don't want to get hit with the stream right away!
ETA: Also our towel rack is on the wall that the back of the tub hits, so I need to be there anyway, otherwise I'd drip a few steps on the floor to reach my towel.

We have a stand up shower, but we both enter/exit from the front. It's closest to where our towels are.
I don't wash my hair every day...I have a little old lady shower cap!
ETA: It's the way our shower door swings open, so we also don't have much of a choice!

I enter from the front. And now that I'm thinking about it, because I enter by the shower head, I always point the shower head towards the wall until I get in and know the water temp is good. This makes no sense!!! Why don't I just get in from the back?!?! Mind blown
I think it stems from the fact that the bathroom I used growing up had a sliding door and the toilet sat right next to the tub, so it would have been really hard to get in any other way but by the shower head. Wow. I'm apparently a creature of habit...

The front! Our shower is large enough that no matter which side I step in from I have to really reach in my arm to feel the water, so I like to leave the shower head side door open to adjust the temperature. When I step out, my towel is against that wall.

Depends on the shower! In our master bath I exit at the back, but in our other bathroom I exit towards the front. I think it has more to do with where the toilet is... I exit on whichever is further from the toilet!
ETA: When I get it, I always do so at the end furthest from the shower head.

I'm equal opportunity - I get into the shower in the back, but get out up by the shower head.

We're in a shower stall so N/A, but typically I get in the back side away from the shower head!

Back because 1) toilet is in the way at the front 2) I need to wade in to make sure the water temp is ok

@mediagirl: Now we are disagreeing over the poll results! Haha. If you go by the poll, I'm right. However, he argues that if you go by the comments he is right because I have to squeeze by the toilet to get in through the back.

From the back...our towel holder is located at the back so that's where I always enter and exit.

Depends on the layout of the bathroom? At my parents when I was growing up, it was the back. At our house now, it's the front near the showerhead.

Back because the toilet is by the head.
BUT if I had an option? I'd probably take the middle. I'm the kind of gal that throws open the curtains like I'm a hot-shot prosecutor walking into a courtroom.
The only incentive that would get me to exit/enter "head first" is if the towel rack was on that side.

Our toilet is on the opposite side of the shower head so we have to get out by the shower head. At my old place it was the opposite. Now I barely get to shower with to full mobile toddlers

Both! I enter at the back (to check temp first and keep my hair from getting wet if it's my 'other' day) and exit at the front (after I've turned of off the water). My towel is at the front.

@ mrsbrewer: right?! I turn on the water once I'm in! It never occurred to me that this might be abnormal!
I get in/out at the back - the head is right by the bathroom door so to enter/exit there would feel like leaving the bathroom itself. But this conversation just reminds me how much I loathe showers in tubs. I miss our old bathroms with separate showers!

I go out the back bc that's where the door is
Otherwise I think it depends where the towel is!

Front!
The back butts up to the toilet (no pun intended). And I don't turn the water on until I'm in the shower. In response to your other question - I don't actually shower everyday (usually every other), but I wash my hair every time I shower.

I think it depends on how your bathroom is laid out but if I had a choice I think I will get out in the front. I no longer have that problem because we remodeled our master bath and we now have the fanciest shower ever lol

By the shower head. The toilet is on the opposite side, so it's not possible to get in on that side. I've always gotten in and out by the shower head though! I never really go on the other side of the shower. The shower head is where the action happens.

Enter towards the back!
It's easy in my current home because that's where the "open" space is (the head of the shower entrance is blocked by the toilet). But even growing up in my parents home, I would get in towards the back and have to climb in around the toilet to do so.

The front. First I check the temperature and make any adjustments and get in. That is the only way I've ever done it.

Front!
But now that you mention it, at hotels I always enter through the back (I guess cuz the toilet is right by the front).
I never turn on the shower until I actually enter the shower. I usually leave it running, then I pull that lever thingy to initiate the shower once I'm in, so the water splashing me has never been an issue.
