In my experience, you can't force potty training. I was having the same issues with my son who turned 3 in May. Mentally, he just wasn't into it. My pediatrician said to let it go. Children can control two things - what goes in their mouth and how it comes out. She said he was strong willed and would do it when he was ready. We'll just this week at 3.5, he FINALLY used the potty! In contrast, his sister at 18 months has used the potty more often than him. I know it's not really help. But you aren't alone.

Unfortunately that's something that can't really be forced, bribery can sometimes help but if they don't want to they won't. Hope something clicks for him soon ad he decides it's something he'd like to do!

I agree that you can’t force it. That said, here are things we did that helped:

Every time she sat on the potty she got an m&m.
Every time she actually peed in it she got a prize from a prize box that we kept in plain site. Going poop meant two prizes. Eventually we phased out the m&m and then the pee prize and, lastly, the poop prize. We set a timer and had her sit on the potty every half hour for ten minutes. Once she was actively using the potty (took a couple of days) we would set a timer for an hour after the last potty to try again. Then we started rewarding her when she could tell us that she needed to potty.

It took us about two weeks to get her fully trained BUT she was 3.25 and showing signs of readiness. Not sure how long it would take if she was completely resistant.

My little guy didn’t like going commando but he was ok hanging out in his underwear at home. We didn’t go anywhere for 3 days and he got m&ms or stickers when he used the potty. He only went 3 times a day the first few days. It took him a week before he would poop in the potty.

Ugh I'm sorry... my son had NO interest at all until he just took off diapers one day and that was it (almost 3.5).... it's so stressful with the deadine coming up. We offered some pretty impressive bribes and they did nothing! So, we waited.

Agree with speaking with the daycare about the situation.

I'd maybe just keep talking about it and not pressure too much. GOOD LUCK!
