So we have a cheap high chair and it sucks. It has a fabric cover (lol worst idea ever) and gets FILTHY now that E is starting to feed herself and we're moving towards more whole foods. It's grody.
Grizz' Poppy looks pretty awesome, but I thought I'd see if there was anything else cool out there that you guys recommend.

We just took the fabric cover off our cheap high chair. It's just molded plastic underneath, so it's not winning any style awards but it gets the job done.

Ugh we have the same issue. WHY WHY WHY would anyone make a fabric high chair cover?! I'd like to try to find a used tripp trapp to replace it. The ikea antilop is also supposed to be good. Or the oxo sprout, depending on your budget.

We love our Tripp Trapp, it's good looking, high quality construction, and will grow with our LO for YEARS to come (I've even had a meal sitting in my BFF's.. it holds a grown adult!)... but I must say I'm not sure I would have bought it myself if it wasn't a gift because those bad boys are expensive.

I love our OXO Trout Sprout. It is expensive but it is SO easy to clean. The fabric parts comes off for easy cleaning. And you can buy replacement ones. So if R ruins it then we can buy new pads for the next LO without having to buy a whole new chair.

We considered the Tripp Trapp but ended up choosing the OXO Sprout. We love it! It's easy to clean, and I love that we can replace the pads for the next LO. I also like that it grows with her and can pull up to the table as a booster.

We have a cheap-o IKEA Antilop high chair, and love it so far. Easy to clean, and can't beat the price.

We just have a wooden high chair. I didn't like any of the ones I saw so I went for classic. DH stained it and it's easy to clean. I didn't even buy a cushion for it. DS doesn't know any better.

We have the Ikea Antilop and are happy with it so far. I specifically wanted one with no fabric - it makes no sense for me that so many high chairs are sold with cushions.
I've also heard that the Fisher Price booster seat can be disassembled and put in the dishwasher, if you wanted to go the booster seat route.

we have the fisher price booster seat and i really like it for 2 reasons: (1) easy to wipe and clean; and (2) i didn't have to oust and find a new random spot for one of my existing dining chairs since i could just strap the booster seat onto a chair.

We had a Chicco, but I think the Graco Blossom is the same concept, it's a plastic covered cushion that you can just wipe off.
I really wanted a Tripp Trapp, but once I saw how much additional crap you needed for it to make it function for a baby, it was too expensive. And personally, my son won't sit in it anymore, he thinks it is a chair for babies (he's 3).

We have the Fisher Price booster and I love it! We have a super small space so it works better than a high chair at the table, and when I am feeling lazy, I just feed her on the floor wiith a big dishcloth underneath. The whole thing wipes down really easily too.

@kiddosc, we've done that but it's built so weird that she just slides around in it. It's just not made well. Bananas and mushed up food have gotten into the joints where the screws are and it's such a small area, I can't get in there to clean it out!
@mamamoose, yeah, a $250 high chair is more than I want to spend. It's pretty, though!
@mae, ours can go in the washer...the problem is that it needs to be done every night and we can't get a full load of wash done fast enough if we're doing diapers or towels. I really want one I can wipe down

Our chairs are kind of rounded with arms on them. I'll measure them, though...it's definitely an easier option

@Smurfette: yeah, we also have a breakfast bar with 3 backed stools that have a adjustable height. So the booster is permanently attached to one and we just bring it to the dining table.

@blackbird: It is expensive but if you are going to have more kids, worth the investment in a quality one. By the time LO#2 needs a high chair, you can move E into a booster seat.

@locavore_mama, They're rounded at the back with arm pieces that come all the way around the side. And they sit really low; I'm not sure the booster would actually be high enough to bring her to the table. I feel like the table would be at her chin!

Ikea Antilop is the best! So cheap and it cleans up so easy! Maybe with online shopping and shipping it wouldn't be too bad?!? I think its like $25.00 in the store with the tray.

I started using the fp booster seat... SO easy! No fabric, tray is smaller and easier to clean...
Before that I just kept throwing the fabric in the wash...
